So who got Red Dead Redemption yet? Any reviews? - GoFuckYourself.com

Did anyone pick up a copy of Red Dead Redemption at the midnight sale last night? I just got back from the store with it, going to get into the game tonight. Just wondering if anyone else has had the chance to play it. I heard the online play is awesome. Rockstar makes some kick ass games so this should be a winner. The videos I've seen of the game are amazing.

I bought it this morning for xbox 360. They were also giving away the good, the bad and the ugly bluray's with the game. Sweet.

I think I'll play it a bit today since work is slow :D

No shit, you know rockstar isn't going to mess it up, I've been playing (ps3) for a little bit and it's nothing short of an amazing game

Played an hour or so and it has not dissapointed. Horse riding takes a little getting used to but they look amazing in action. You can also shoot just about anything that moves including birds flying way overhead. I thought it might be a bit too much like GTA but that isn't the case. Has it's own distinct flavor.

It was scoring 95 on metacritic the last time I checked. Looks like a good one to pick up for sure.

I don't have it yet but it looks incredible.

There was a pre-order deal and you got a special code you could redeem for a pair of golden guns or something like that. I heard people are putting their codes up for sale on ebay and getting almost the price of the game for it.

TIP:

first thing...

go to options, change your camera view to "camera relative" from "horse relative".

it will save you some frustration when you have to look at things while riding.

I finally played it last night and got my review. The single player game starts out pretty slow, but picks up. Most of the time you watch cut scenes that set up your missions and show you how to do certain actions. The horse back riding does take some getting use to. One of the coolest things is the dead eye feature, where you slow up the action and aim your shot, that helps when you have to battle a large group. It kinda sucks when you have a gun battle up close, thats a bit tricky. I wish there was a melee control, but you have to select it from your weapon inventory and during the action its a pain. Another thing if you're out in the middle of no where and you get off your horse to examine something he takes off leaving you all alone. You have to walk back to a trail so you can jack some poor fool off his horse.

It's worth the $59, I'm going to try the multi player later on today.
