Sorry where did you find this? I've been an affiliate for quite some time now, and they never did it even if i didn't send a single customer for a long time (was not promoting them).

They sent affiliates an email notifying them about this, seems like almost a year ago, and that sparked a discussion about it here.

I have been looking at this for a long long time...I have only run across 2 maybe 3 apps that can do something like this.

The first place was I ever heard of such technology was 2004 Vegas show where CCMEDIA Networks had came up with Camsense. I just checked out Camsense today and it is still written in WML witch means it will not show up on an iPhone. The iPhone does not support WML nor does it support the Java app.

At the same show there was another company with a Java app solution but I forget their name. I think it was mobilestreamingsolutions.com I talked to a guy named to Jay.

A few years ago I ran across another site doing some Cam stuff, I actually helped put it together. What it did was it used plain xhtml-mp and would use multiple frames shots from vids and reload the page every 2 seconds to refresh the image. It gave it an animated gif effect. It was really weak but one of the first of its kind.

I still want to build something like this, but there are some major problems with the current devices.

No USA phones have front facing camera.
No devices that I know of can play embedded video in the page without hacking and adding plugins.

The reason it so young is that developers are still making too much money with those nazi cunts at apple. Why does this matter you say? Well apple does not allow adult content in their APPS we all know that yes! So while developers are making money that way their minds are focused on puppy dogs and lollipops their skills in advancing adult related APPS goes wanting.
Now we have a friend in google with Android ... open source and freedom of choice. Their phones are faster and more powerful and when the developers find there way back to developing for the masses not the apple cult we will see a great mobile streaming APP.
The problem will still remain billing and data plans here in North America. The US isn't bad but up here in Canada the rates are so over priced that it won't be appealing until we de-regulate the industry more.
Europe and Asia are the best targets there phones and networks are 10 yrs. ahead of us and the billing costs are extremely cheap.
I believe "BIRD" is correct ... in using Ajax within an APP rather then a site it will increase the bandwidth for the video rather then parsing bandwidth for the site it self APPS would use AJAX to carry the signal straight from the source.

OH ya Remember steve jobs is eliminating all flash formats from all his platforms as he deems it to be unstable and a security issue. So we need the egg heads to use a stream that uses low bandwidth and is not flash ... ASP perhaps?

Any thoughts?

#3 is the only way i see it being able to be done and be widely compatible. have a jpeg that is frequently updated, and then AJAX that will constantly refresh that image. like you said, it's weak. but i don't know if phones are strong enough to handle anything more intense. i'm sure some devices could technically, but how many whales do you expect via a mobile phone? lol. this should be something as an add-on or up sale opportunity for a big cam site, at least until the technology gets better

I just checked It was the LG U series that came 2003/2004 that we could do video chatting/calling on.
