:stop Has the flood in Tennessee been on the news in your area?

http://www.wkrn.com/Global/story.asp?S=12426439 for more info.

The Nashville area has been hit incredibly hard in this last week with devastating rains. The most rain in 80 years. So many families have lost their homes, 19 so far have been found dead. The city and state has joined together and there is a tremendous amount of help being provided to those that need it, but they need more. We are the volunteer state and the people out helping each other is amazing.

I haven't been affected by it, and none of my family and friends had substantial damage, but many many have lost their homes. The national news has done a poor job of letting the country know what is happening here. Below are some links to donate to help. Please spread the word to get others to help, or donate to help get these families back on their feet.

Down here we are busy watching the oil spill get closer on local news. National news didn't cover Tenn. while I was watching.

Floods are the worst man, I have mor than one person in my family that lost their entire house in Hurricane katrina. I mean, the whole damn house was gone. My uncle found his jacuuzi in a tree down the st, he came back to nothing but a slab. Entire house washed away... my dad also lost a rental home, the whole thing just destroyed... etc...

its hard to get back on your feet after. sad to see first hand.

You know thats the funny thing, I live in Kentucky, just North of Tenn and not a whole lot being said here about it. But I was asked about it from the guys over in NL who were concerned it might be affecting me. Seems it might be getting more eyes internationally then here in the US

BTW< Rachel Maddow is talking about it right now on her show, death toll up to 31 over all the states that had flooding

My parents are in cookville. They were not affected but were in the area when the flooding started. They drove their RV back home and decided it was not a good idea to go sightseeing.

I dunno what news you guys watch, but I turn on one of the 24/hr news entertainment stations once or twice a day and it's been the same 3 stories for the last week.

In no particular order.. the only news has been..

Moron SUV bomber
Oil Rig spill
Tenn flood

I do believe they will be working on a 4th story as some NFL guy raped some chick. I sure hope they don't over do it though as 4 stories might be a tough one to handle.

sarcasm aside.. it's been all over the news for days.

It has been on the National news everyday...and has been on cable news multiple times per day...and has even been on our local news multiple times. Unless it was made the only story presented...I do not know how it could get anymore coverage than it has.

It wasn't on National news for a few days after it happened. Maybe a few places, but overall it wasn't too talked about.

Its not just me saying this.

http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/thega...lle-flood.aspx

As the article says, more people were hearing about the Tattoo chick Jesse James was banging, and how Sandra Bullock was reacting then people dying in flood waters.

I'm wearing river water cologne.. I can't get the smell off of me and it will be that way for awhile I guess.. It's a mess. Helped a family friend haul a half a million dollar life long gun collection out of his "safe room" today. May be a complete loss. It's tough seeing a grown man cry.. I've seen it twice today.

I've heard it on the news but it hasn't been covered heavily. Probably a mix of some other big stories going on (SUV terrorist, oil spill) and the fact the public is more concerned with who got fake tits on some reality show.

At least be thankful that a white girl didn't go missing, otherwise you guys would really be left in the dark.

Got The Nashville Scene magazine today and had some ridiculous photos. So scary how shit like that can happen in less than 3 days.

He isn't rich. As I said a life long 60+ year collection. The collection is irreplaceable and was worth more than his house. Civil war rifles, rifles from every war and many countries around the World. 90% of them with wood stocks and obviously already beginning to rust. As he pulled them out to hand them to us each one had it's story.. Was tough to watch..
