Sounds like you are investing in some nice gear if not shooting content.

Dont really want to spend 700$ on a zoom lense, but this is my first experience into SLR, bought the T2i last week, love it, blows point and shoot out of the water, would like a zoom for going to sporting events.

I love our Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC
The reviews it gets are on par with Canon, photo quality wise and it costs half the price. I wanted a nice range, without breaking the bank. http://www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/...p5-6p3_vc_n15/ Did you pick up the EF-50mm f/1.8 II? |

Check the Tamron, I think you'll be pleased with the results and the cost.
![]() The 50mm, you can find online for under $90. It was recommended to me as a must have and it takes great portrait shots. |

I initially started off with EFS 55-250 but invested in a Sigma 18-200 which is what I use most of the time now.

I love my EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM (with image stabiliser) but I think it would be a bit unwieldy on a rebel body. You'll also need another lens for wider shots (I use an EF 16-35mm L)
I don't know much about the other lenses but I would recommend pushing EF-S lenses down your list a little, since they're not compatible with full frame bodies. The body is disposable, lenses are an investment, if your next body is full frame then your EF-S lenses are useless... |
