    Phoenix suns losing support!!!

    Heard this morning on the news that people who have season tickets and regular attending supporters of the phoenix suns are not going to be attending any further games or activities put on by the suns.
    It seems the team has decided to bring politics to the arena by wearing new ?Los Suns t-shirts? in protest of the new immigration law.

    I hope fans take a stand against the suns and boycott their games. Beings I am not a supporter of the suns, I am going to happily put a real estate size sign in my front yard that reads piss on Robert Sarver (owner of the suns) and the phoenix suns.

    One of the protestors is Nash, he is from Canada and a guest in this country..... Maybe he should be sent packing...fucker

    Good to see the asshole los suns lost the game last night and I hope this losing streak continues. Maybe Mexico could use a basketball team because I have a feeling they are going to be boycotted for quite a while...fuckers

                  I like how people don't ever want to get to the root of the problem (company's influencing and advertising in bordering Mexican cities for jobs in America for illegals) and rather just put the blame on the people themselves then the corporations causing it all. Hey Nikki, how about boycotting McDonalds or the other corps using illegals? How about not hiring that guy to cut your lawn because he's cheaper than everyone else. You want the benefits without the problems.

                                                      They Won (check the paper's sports section) and I dont think fans will be boycotting them when they are in the conference finals... This country was founded on immigrants, my parents were immigrants from Easter Europe and they worked really hard to get where they are and putting me through school. I think the issue is more about what Ricky said.

                                                                      Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

Only a couple dozen season tickets holders have come out against the Suns taking a stance. This is not the first time the Suns have worn their "Los Suns" jerseys, they did so many times earlier this year to support their latino fan base and did so last night not only in protest of the new immigration law, but for cinco de mayo. Nash, Sarver and the Suns organization have come forward not in total opposition of the new law, but more against some of the verbage in the law that they feel needs to be changed. As Kerr says in the article, "And we're not trying to make a huge stand on one side, we're just saying the law the way it's written we don't really agree with". Take a couple hours Nikki and actually read the entire law, not what you extrapolate from certain media.

                                                                                  The Suns are in the playoffs and won last night and I can guarantee you that for the rest of the playoffs all the games will be sold out. I'm a long time season ticket holder and have worked closely with the Suns organization at varies times over the years with their scouting dept. Also, even though Nash was raised in Canada, he has lived in the US the last 20 years and has been outspoken on many different political topics.

In all probability they will be sold out and that's fine. I am giving Kudos to the people that are standing up. I think what the suns did was offensive to me and looks like they got the attention of others as well.

                                                                                      If you are happy working with the suns activities, more power to you. I am not a supporter ;)

                                                                                          How is what they did offensive to you when you admit you aren't even a supporter? Have you read the entire law? If anything the Suns are gaining support as they are hotter than ever and have a huge growing fan base and a chance to make it to the conference finals to play the Lakers.

                                                                                                  It's not about illegals coming in and taking some american jobs - The issue is to do that they have to steal an Americans SSN and ID... The employment issue is companies ONLY hire illegals, and not a single american.

                                                                                                  I have been all along the border on both sides and have never seen advertising looking for illegals.

                                                                                                          During this heated/sensitve time in Phoenix, the suns decide to pull out these shirts and wear them at last nights game which as you mentioned was in celebration of cinco de mayo, support for their latino fan base and in opposition of the new law....I have a feeling that there is more underlying to this than is on the surface.
                                                                                                          I think they knew what type of controversy this may cause during this time, which I feel was in poor judgement, but they still moved forward with this stupid idea. I took it as a show of support against the new law and support for the very people (some of them) that have no regard to the laws of this Country or State.

The Suns are not against immigration reform and at no time have said they are ok with immigrants entering illegally. There is nothing more underlying here, there have been hundreds of examples of sports as well as private companies coming forward and taking a stance on certain legislation in the past. How can the Suns cause anymore controversy, the law itself had already formed a ground swell of controversy well before the latest Suns game.

You seem to have a hard on against the Suns for taking a stance, yet what about the dozens of other private companies who have come forward against the law also. If an organization/company comes forward and takes a stance on a particular issue then according to you they are guilty of causing controversy.

                                                                                                                                                                  I was simple mentioning what I hard on the morning news as I mentioned and it did not surprise me after the stunt they pulled.

                                                                                                                                                                  I do not feel any company is guilty of voicing their opinion. It was the suns and the way they did it that that got under my skin.

The 60+ age population that votes Conservative, is the majority here and will always be. If you build the population out that much more, you put water in new sources, which will attract cheap housing and more old people.

                                                                                                                                                                                      The ratio of old people to everyone else, is about equal. Some areas it's like 99% 60+, entire cities that are 55+ age housing.

                                                                                                                                                                                      Most people here like the law and want it enforced, of every race. They just aren't taking to the streets... If they had a vote on it, it would have passed with flying colors.

                                                                                                                                                                                      Here is how it's going to go down... if the law is blocked/removed, they will put it on the ballot and we will vote it back in and then all the moaners can piss off until the next round.

I'd point out some of the details I think they need to amend, but I'm trying to encourage you to actually take the time and become familiar with something you've already aligned yourself with.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  I've been a long time Suns fan and will continue to be for many years and don't see too many real fans walking away from the suns over this unless they are just plain racist or not true fans before anyways.. The suns didn't make this out as a big deal hyping it up for a longtime or making announcements at the game. Anyone that knows Nash knows that he has some real big causes that he supports day in and day out as does many other players on many other teams. The los suns jerseys were not just made up for this but were used earlier this year in the "NBA's Noche Latina program" where all teams had jerseys with "Los" added to their jerseys for games.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  I'm all for this law and think it could really help a very troubled state of Arizona but not in the current form cause it does more harm than good. I hope that in coming mos they will work to fix the new law so that is not so wrong. I love that this law gives rights to the police to send illegal immigrants back to where they came from but it also takes away rights of legal immigrants and is racist in it's current form.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      The AZ law is a mirror of our federal law other than it hands the power down to the local and adds penalties towards abuse and it asks for funding to pay for more troops. That same power has been given to local enforcement along the border before.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      I highly doubt the suns owner read the law... I haven't heard anyone be against the law after they actually read it.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      You may want reform or a few points of the law might not be perfect - but overall it's what is enforced every day in our Country already.


                                                                                                                                                                                                      Speaking against it, truly makes people look rather uneducated. If you want to focus on a few points, that's understandable.
