There are always those things you hate as a kid but come to love as an adult. I guess "aquired" tastes, like coffee, beer, vegetables, etc.

One thing for me is italian cookies-



As a kid it used to drive me crazy that the only cookies kept in the house always tasted of ameretto or anisette. I didn't grow up with alot of chipsahoy, pepridge farm, or keebler. Maybe its just because it brings me back to when I was a little kid, don't know, but I've come to really appreciate them with some coffee as an adult.

What are some of the things you find yourself loving now as an adult you detested as a kid?

I've never liked house burgers but I get what you're saying. When you're little its all about the happy meal.

I think also when you're a kid you always want what you can't have. Like I grew up eatting home cooked italian food- slow cooked gravy / red sauce, lots of pasta. Everything took hours to make, but when you're little and its all you know you don't really appreciate it.

I remember being pissed off because other kids were always eating things like kraft mac and cheese and chicken nuggets for dinner. As a kid I would have traded baked ziti or home made lasagna for tuna noodle casserole in a heartbeat. I also really liked Pizza Hut, I liked good pizza too, but because we never ordered it Pizza Hut was like a super special treat. I think it's garbage now, I can't even remember what I liked about it, but as a 5 year old that shits delicious.

I guess its kinda like how some kids who grew up eating mayonaise like miracle whip and kids who grew up with miracle whip turned to love mayonaise.

Just about everything except pizza, hot dogs, rice, candy and jerky and the few other things I liked as a kid. I was very picky as a kid but now I'll eat just about everything. Most notably I eat lots of Chinese food and Mexican food which I wouldn't touch as a kid.

I hated where I grew up. It was in the middle of no place in rural New Jersey; The nearest shopping center was nearly an hour away. Nearest movie theatre was forty five minutes. I mean, there was just nothing there. Hometown had two banks, a family restaurant, a pizza place, a bagel place, a five and dime, and a grocery store. THAT'S IT. I couldn't wait to leave.

Now, as an adult, I would kill to live there. It was just so beautiful, such a slow pace, but you don't see that as a kid when your looking for excitement.

I have to agree with that one. I grew up in a little town. Not as small as you, but the town I lived in had about 2,000 people. 2 grocery stores, a few banks etc. It was one of those places where no matter where you went you ran into people you knew. As a kid you could hardly get away with anything because everywhere you went people knew who you were and who your parents were. I couldn't wait to leave. I moved to Los Angeles for a while, lived in Portland for a while and got sick of it. I ended up moving back to a small town about 5 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did.

I had a feeling exactly like that, I was raised in a small town (although the population is like 90 000) and even I still have a couple of my very best friends there, I hated it so much, lots of wanna bees and surface and bad square elements.

Now after like 8 years I visit this place almost every weekend and even it still has mainly its square dumb face I don't care anymore and just keep my people around, my only bar with style where they play live music with girls and milf's and am pretty much fine with that.

It's just I could never EVER go to any of the "party" places around here again cause that's just SOO lame - McDouchenberg smalltown gets served a lot lol
