Yes, all of the laws that are 'saving people from themselves' are horribly stupid. This law is typically used by the parents to keep their poor innocent daughters away from the slobbering rapists...lol. Though there is a clause in the law that would allow 14-15 year olds to consentually have sex with someone as much as 5 years older.
