I said right in the post I'm in California, but because you have a dislike for what I think, you put me in a different political party than I am, different state than I live California has had a history of people trying to get california to split in three different states. I have to wonder if you have ever even been to Texas, or are you just calling them dirtbags because they have different beliefs than you. That is a narrow minded veiw of people, I feel sorry for you! |

Well, they're right about the constitutional republic aspect..
but they're very wrong about the Judeo-Christian influences. And quite a few other things. |

I spent the last few minutes trying to find the chart I once saw again in Google and turned up empty-handed. I was surprised at how large of a % Texas needed back for services of the money that they put into Treasury. Texas was one of the worst offenders. The NE states took back the smallest % of dollars they contributed. Would it sting? Of course! Would it be "economically devastating" as you say? No. Depending on social security/medicare liabilities, it could even possibly work out to be a good thing if the state seceded. |
I take that back ... there are far worse offenders ... but for every dollar that Texas puts into Treasury, they spend 94 cents of it on themselves.
So, the statement about not being "economically devastating" stands. The comment about being one of the worst, was incorrect. The top three are New Mexico, Mississippi and Alaska (and some wanted Palin as VP...) http://www.taxfoundation.org/researc...state-20071009 (obviously, I found what I was previously looking for) |
The Demon, get your facts straight. By Texas' own admission, the education system there pretty much sucks:

It hardly involves ottawa. In any case, black/white rhetorical challenges are a common tool in debate, useful in getting the other to state their actual position, instead of using weaker tactics like ad hominem. the demon then stated his position and "picked a side". the tactic worked exactly as it was supposed to. your comment is not relevant, incorrectly models the process, and even worse is more pointless ad hominem. you fight like a pussy. |
It's not black and white but I did pick a side. I'm pro Jefferson and pro separation of church and state.

And they only hurt their own kids by teaching them bullshit. They might think it's cute and all to mix their ideologies into history and other classes, but it just makes the kids less prepared for the real world.
