agreed ...... but that's pretty much how it is in mainstream too, people contribute articles, do seminars to promote themselves and their products and services.

We were just at SMX West in Santa Clara last week. Most of the speakers actually provided quality information without pushing their warez, so they either got comp'd rooms and badges, or were paid to speak. Either way, that's really the only fair way to do it, otherwise there's no point for someone to use their time and energy to help other people when there's nothing in it for them.

Well, that's America at least, no?
