It might only be a car but its his pride and joy no dought and it sucks when people do shit like this. Its a pain to get it fixed using insurance and if he doesent go down that route he is still gonna be out of pocket for some idiot that couldent havent have the decency to even leave a contact number. I would feel exactly the same

But you live in one of the most overpriced countries in the world. Even when buying a german car, I'm sure it costs twice as much in Norway, because of all the taxes and bullshit. :(

You have to compare prices to income and when doing that it's not that bad. I just looked at a sheet listing gasprices in europe compared to income, and even though we had the highest prices along with the netherlands, we got much more gas per hour worked than any other country. Sucks for me to make my cash in dollars but luckily xxx is only a part of my income.

You still in eastern parts of have you moved? I can't hounestly remember what country but I would imagine $200 would last longer there than up here.

Manowar 03-05-2010 08:17 AM

people who do that kind of stuff are assholes

thehand 03-05-2010 08:31 AM

That sucks man - sorry to hear it!

arock10 03-05-2010 08:41 AM

that sucks, probably some ford or gm fanboy

yutenjiboy 03-05-2010 08:50 AM

Anyone who fucks with another man's car is the lowest of the low in my books. Take comfort in knowing that they will get their's one day.

ShellyCrash 03-05-2010 08:51 AM

One thing that sucks about living in FL- I have so many dents and dings from seniors in parking lots. It seems unavoidable. No matter how many empty spaces are around you they have to try and pull in right next to your car.

One thing I have learned from it though, as a few others have said, it really is easier to just go to the body shop and pay out of pocket.

Raf1 03-05-2010 08:52 AM

that sucks man.

Rochard 03-05-2010 09:18 AM

People are jerks. This is why we have insurance.

dude for that kinda damage dont file with your insurance company, heck i wouldnt even go to police.. go to a body shop and get a new back bumper and fix the door.. wont cost too much... will be cheaper than filing insurance..

last time i filed insurance for a small claim, i ended up getting a $400 hike for the next few years, plus it goes on record, might also go on carfax(mine did, )

so just drive to a body shop, fix it, move on

exactly.

Hopefully you won't kill me for saying this but it looks more like self inflicted parking damage to me than deliberate vandalism. Seeing as it is a passenger side rear scrape that you only noticed when you got home are you sure it was definitely done today? The sort of cunt that keys a car is usually a pedestrian so I wouldn't expect the two things to be connected either. It's going to piss you off forever knowing there is damage there but the bumper damage looks like an easy repair for a mobile bump and scrape fixer if you have one local to you. Key scratches can also often be sorted by the mobile man too or if it is only the surface one of the detailing mentals off of detailingworld or a similar american based forum may know someone local enough to you that could get rid of it.

Getting your insurance to fix it will cost you higher premiums for the next 3 or 5 years as well as any excess that you have to pay so I would definitely be getting quotes to fix it before deciding on going through the insurance.

No offence meant, it's a common perception!

Platinumpimp 03-05-2010 12:15 PM

Self inflicted? I'm extremely careful with the car and there's no chance I could have done something like that. The car was with me every second yesterday except for the moment it was in that parking lot, and I take time to visually inspect it everywhere I go.

This was kind of a shady place that the car was parked. I shouldn't have left it there. :( Without sounding like a racist, it definitely was not a business park with high end clients.

Pipecrew 03-05-2010 12:27 PM

sadly you did it to yourself. Most haters will specifically target a car that purposely parks away from others or takes 2 parking spots and does that angled park thing.

Phoenix 03-05-2010 01:43 PM

the part that sucks is its on more then one body piece
you can probably get them replaced for under a k

sorry to hear about this....my main concern when driving or parking is crazy drivers who shouldnt be driving

You own a Porsche 911 right? You actually park that next to other cars?

D Ghost 03-05-2010 05:30 PM

thats whack.... :/

strobi 03-05-2010 05:41 PM

My car was hit 4 times last year on parking lots, and 2 new mirrors... sucks!

Yeah, I still didn't find a better place. I'm too much of a capitalist and most countries in EU are so socialistic, it would kill me to support such a system. :)
