Porn.com is Now WebsiteSecure.org Certified

As originally reported by XBIZ:

Porn.com Certified by WebsiteSecure.org

LOS ANGELES ? Adult webmaster affiliate powerhouse PIMPROLL has announced that its flagship website, Porn.com, has been certified by WebsiteSecure.org. Porn.com is one of the most recognizable domain names in adult entertainment, with a massive website offering a combination of top quality exclusive content and network access for porn fans to enjoy.

"Since the domain name is synonymous in the minds of many with the entire porn industry, the decisions made by Porn.com affect the reputation of adult paysites on a much broader level than any other domain in the industry," stated a company rep. "The vigilant, honest and ethical approach adopted for Porn.com by PIMPROLL management is an important marketing element of the site and WebsiteSecure.org Certification emphasizes that fact for consumers and affiliates."

"That universal notoriety makes the inclusion of Website Secure Certification on the Porn.com join page particularly important," said Stewart of WebsiteSecure.org "In our effort to establish a bright line between honest adult businesses and lesser entities, we are very pleased to be able to certify the fact that Porn.com adheres to an honest, long term view with ethical marketing practices ensuring that customers always get exactly what they deserve."

As a Page Rank 5 website with top Alexa rankings and search engine listings, Porn.com already established itself as one of the most visible merchant sites in any market. A large customer-base, excellent reviews from trusted adult review sites and a transparent tour demonstrate to millions of adult film fans that Porn.com is worth joining. "Becoming WebsiteSecure.org Certified is another important move to solidify consumer trust at the point of sale," Stewart added. "Alleviating any anxiety of potential buyers and improving sales ratios on all in-house traffic and for affiliate accounts as well."

"As a business owner in the adult online industry for more than a decade, I have seen many ideas come and go," said David K. of PIMPROLL. "Porn.com does not need marketing gimmicks to please its members or potential customers. WebsiteSeucre.org is significant because consumer trust has become one of the most substantial factors in the conversion of each sale. Watching WebsiteSecure.org since it began, and seeing the serious way they approach consumer confidence, I am confident that their certification seal will continue to grow as a symbol of integrity in the minds of many customers. Porn.com has always conducted business ethically, becoming certified is a simple way to demonstrate that fact to millions of fans."

WebsiteSecure.org inspects site terms, privacy policies, join pages and billing practices while continually monitoring sites that pass inspection to be sure they remain compliant with strict ethical guidelines. Website Secure Certification Seals receive more than 50 million impressions each month and are approaching the point of becoming a new industry standard, appearing many prestigious sites including: all sites from Hustler, VideosZ, TopBucks, NaughtyAmerica, HunkMoney, BlazingBucks, Gammae, Playgirl and a growing number of mainstream sites like Webair, NetCash and many others as well. Certifications are also now being noted by major review sites including TheBestPorn so that readers can easily see which sites have taken the affirmative step to become Website Secure Certified.

Any site owner interested in raising their sales ratios on new and existing traffic is encouraged to contact www.WebsiteSecure.org to learn more. The process is simple, painless and produces solid results. More importantly, it helps to identify your company as one that can be trusted by consumers and affiliates interested in working with companies that make ethical business practices a priority of their business plans.

Nice -- welcome to the WS certified family, porn.com!

Good to see WS growing healthily Stewart, and I'm glad TopBucks was among your earliest adopters.

Perhaps sites like WOT ought to do actual impartial inspections of sites before posting idiotic comments by anyone who feels like chiming in on their chat system. I'm not even sure what their 'ratings' mean. Child Safety? It's a porn site. Vendor Reliability? In what way. Trustworthiness? Nice explanation.

WebsiteSecure.org does actual inspections of websites that include reading the terms, privacy policy and join page verbiage. We do test joins and cancels. Our full reports can be viewed for free any time by any consumer who clicks our seal or enters the unique certification number in our website for verification. Our inspections present consumers with OBJECTIVE information including links to customer support, billing descriptors, last checked dates and more.

We also offer consumers the opportunity to submit information or comments about any website we certify... but we actually check the information they submit before publishing it. There are plenty of people who have an agenda other than stating honestly whether a site is ethical or not... and posting their point of view with zero verification is a disservice to the online community.

If you would like more information please contact me any time via ICQ # 266942896, or actually join the Porn.com website for yourself. Inaccurate statements about website security are even less helpful than silence. WebsiteSecure.org takes our role very seriously and we do not certify any site without inspecting it thoroughly and monitoring it continually afterward to maintain compliance.

Have you tried searching for vidz.com on WOT? Do it and take a look at the user comments. My hunch is that you will not agree with some of them.

The problem with a community-based rating system is.... well, the "community" part, frankly.

To wit, a Harris Interactive poll conducted in 2005 indicated, among other things, that "Six in ten adults believe in the devil (61%) and in hell (59%)."

Call me a skeptic, but even though 60% of the community around me apparently believes in hell and the devil, I remain unconvinced of the existence of those two things.

I do definitely think the community at large has a major role to play in all of this because a billion eyes will always be faster and more ubiquitous when spotting potential problems. WebsiteSecure.org gets a lot of user feedback from our comment system and contact forms. However, as an example... let's say someone who finds adult content to be morally objectionable decides to post 100 comments under different names stating that all adult content sites are unethical, immoral, lack 'trustworthiness' or any other arbitrary statement that aligns with their own personal subjective agenda? It would be very easy to skew a community-based rating system. Worse than that, perhaps a competitor site decided to try to degrade the trust of another site simply by mass-commenting negatively about it?

How does WOT say you should handle those issues?

Quote:
Tips to increase your site’s reputation - You can also ask your friends and customers to rate the site. In order to rate sites, comment and post on our forum you need the WOT add-on and you have to be registered as a user of WOT (source http://www.mywot.com/en/ctn/tips)
WebsiteSecure.org does not believe that promoting slanted feedback is a satisfactory method of removing bias from a certification system. For that reason we rely on actual inspections performed by experts to determine the ethical standing of any website AND we verify any comments submitted by the consumer community before acting on them.

Keep in mind, no system will ever be perfect. We provide the best possible solution and so far it has proven to be very effective, for consumers that want to be treated fairly and for website owners like Porn.com who seek to monetize the fact that they go to great lengths to provide customers with real value for every purchase.

Posting or re-posting factually incorrect information about the ethics of an online business is not helpful. Porn.com is an ethical adult merchant site... I know, because I actually checked.

There is absolutely nothing unethical about pre-checked cross sales when they are properly presented. They exist on many mainstream sites and adult sites as well. A pre-checked cross sale that is clearly explained, presented above the submit button and easy to uncheck is ethical. The best cross sales are the ones that include a discount offer to another site or product making the combined price lower than the total price would be if they were bought separately.

The certificate of any Website Secure certified site that offers cross-sales plainly states 'this site offers pre-checked cross sales" or "this site offers unchecked cross-sales." Click the WebsiteSecure seal on any site, or verify the unique certification number using WebsiteSecure.org to see a full report. WebsiteSecure.org also has an entire section of the site devoted to explaining Adjunct Sales (cross sales and upsells) to assist in educating consumers.

Any site with 'scams' of any kind, including but not limited to x-sells that can't be unchecked, shown below the submit, ambiguously worded offers etc are not certified and are asked to correct their sites before resubmitting.

The response from consumers is excellent. Consumers are not afraid of being given a fair offer which they can easily opt out of, they are concerned about unethical practices. The fact that many scammers abuse the x-sell concept does not make all x-sells unethical - just as the fact that many crimes being committed with guns does not make all gun ownership unethical.

Agreed, but if I didn't notice a prechecked cross sale as a consumer and got hit with it; I wouldn't trust your name again.

I'm not knocking your service at all what so ever, I think it's fantastic. I'm just pointing out a concern I would have were I involved in third party certification

If you didn't notice a pre-checked cross sale that is clearly explained, above the submit button AND noted in a WebsiteSecure certificate on the same page - you didn't actually use the service. The goal here is to help educate consumers and help ethical site owners earn more by monetizing the fact that they are being honest with their customers. None of that replaces the need for a consumer to be sentient. Website Secure provides the best possible service short of going to your house and sitting next to you while you sign up. That service may eventually become available, but for now it would be impractical.

Who owns WebsiteSecure?

Please don't tell me it's someone from the FSC or someone associated with Xbiz or AVN. If it is, just lie to me and tell me it's not.

Sounds like a good idea though.

I am the owner of WebsiteSecure.org. WebsiteSecure.org is not an FSC, XBIZ or AVN product. If you would like more information please feel free to contact me on ICQ# 266942896.
