GFY WWI History Experts

I inherited a WWI item from family. My great uncle was in WWI and brought it back. It seems to be an ammo pouch but could be anything really. It is marked "Adams MFG CO. Toronto 1916" and is leather.

Here is a picture of it showing the backside: http://www.grantsmilitaria.com/milit...ges.asp?key=63

It says here it is also ammo, but there is no cotton in it so I can't be sure.

cotton could have been stripped due to rotting at some point... lots of wet days in trenches in those battles... cool piece to have though..

My grandfather, who was a little too young to serve in ww2, has a german firebomb that landed in his backyard from the blitz, was a dud obviously.

Wonderful. Thank you. I have always admired vimy ridge and as a bit of a history freak myself been fascinated with this sort of thing. I wanted to confirm that is what I had though.

It's in nearly MINT condition. Apparently what happened is my great uncle died on Vimy Ridge, and all his friend could get off of him was his ammo (took it for survival) but sent it to my family when he survived the war. I thought he made it back alive, but he died in the war.
