I have to admit that I don't like his actual comedy much. I DO like the way he constantly takes the piss out of himself.

I wonder how the Americans will take to him actually - there is a large number of people over there who might think that he's being serious as they live just like the character he portrays. They'll either love him and take him as their new messiah or they'll hate him and go looking for blood.

What I don't understand is why Brits have gotten the humor. True, with exception of the outward appearance, most of his humor is standard tongue in cheek brit humor but the people he's taking the piss out of by acting and dressing that way are mostly here in America. There are so few of them there I don't see how you can truly relate to the joke that is Ali G. I wouldn't have expected him to be the mega success he is over there.

I think he would be infinitely more funny to Americans... at least the Americans that aren't too PC and and enjoys sarcastic wit. Some people here will actually want to KILL him when they see him.

I don't know man, I have me own personal Julie in Colchester so I spend a bit of time in those parts every year. I rarely see anything that comes close to Ali. I see it a little too often over here though. Waaaaaaaaaay too often.

He should be about over in the UK since you are right about him not being able to catch anyone off guard anymore since he's so famous. The only hope for him is expansion to other places like Australia and here in the US.

Cohen did another character a while back that took the piss out of the fashion industry..that was, for lack of a better word, crap. However, that said he went to the equivlilent of an Amercian Ivy League university.
