I walked into the gym not too long ago, and this hispanic guy had that shirt on... La Coka Nostra... with a skull on it etc.

I paused for a second to read his shirt because it caught my attention and as i turned around to do my thing, i hear him say "some motherfucker keeps staring at me"... i was paying attention to what i was doing, when my brain processed that and i realized it was him that said it. i glanced back around to see if it was him and if he was talking about me. the second i turned around he's yelling "can i help you!? do you need something?!"... he was so aggressive that i was a bit confused and i was pretty sure he couldn't be talking to me... so i'm looking all around me to see who he's talking to and its pretty clear i'm a little confused about what the problem is.. and he amps it up a bit "hey man, i'm talking to you".... then i flipped out and screamed at him "i was reading your shirt, you goofy motherfucker" and the whole gym went silent. then he started apologizing profusely "oh my bad dog..." etc... and it really seemed like he was high on meth or coke.

just funny to see that name. i didn't know it was a rap group. from looking at his shirt.. it looked like some latin gang or some shit. he had all kinds of tats all over etc. i thought i was going to get shot walking out to my car that day.

yeah he's cool.. he's a decent skater too, almost went pro

This guy sucks. The only reason I can think that you say he is better then eminem is because it is you.

This guy is from Gadsden im about 40 minutes from there, but wow im not proud of this music at all..

Although Eminem is quite good at making himself look like a clown....... that video was really fucking pitiful. I can only assume it is a parody. :helpme

Sampled music, speaking in rhymes, and a backbeat doesn't = musical talent imo.
That's more like story telling than anything else.
Learn to read and play an instrument with feeling....that's the definition of being a real musician.

I had to stop one second in when I realized they couldn't even spell ghetto properly.

As a 40+ White guy who doesn't understand "kids today" and their "whacky music", and someone clearly way out of the demographic this song is intended for, I have the following to say:

- I um, kind of like it... !
- The video itself looks GREAT. It looks like they spent alot of money on it, and the cinematographer clearly likes what he does.
- The words? Who knows. More violent gangsta crap. Boring.
- At least its not more booty-shaking girls-as-decoration crap
- Then again, more guns, more violence, more hate.
- I like the sound. I bet it would shake the shit out of my subs in my car.

Other than that, bah. Bring back Perry Como.

My best friend manages Everlast ... and La Coka has some tight songs and good lyricists. Slaine and Ill Bill do shine.

In October, Everlast did a showcase/documentary @ the Key Club here in Hollywood. Lots of music, TV and movie industry heavyweights showed up and it was filmed/paid for by Mark Cuban's HDnet.

He closed out the show doing Sweet Home Alabama with Kid Rock transitioning to Rock's take off song on it - and ending with Sweet Home California.



Everlast is far from pigeon holed as a rapper these days. He's an artist/musician that also raps. Funny enough, I think he was either nominated or actually won an Emmy for main title sequence for TV show "Saving Grace".

From "Jump Around" with House of Pain to "What it's Like" and the new stuff with La Coka - I've always dug his music :2 cents:
