Not a bad sounding song - and I am not one to listen to Rap very often. Have always been (and always will be) a Metal guy myself.
And maybe it is just me - but this guy doesn't have the typical gangsta type of look. I don't know. There is just something different about him. He reminds me of a dude playing in some Alternative Rock or a Metal band - but yeah, not a bad sounding song.Comment

The reason I asked if you have kids was to make a point with an argument that hip-hop or any other form of entertainment for that matter has done far less to "dumb down" our country than the very technology you are using to express yourself this very moment.
Texting alone has set us back decades in grammar and reading comprehension. This has had a far greater impact on average IQ in young adults than music ever will

As humans a major part of our evolution is social communication and interaction. The internet has all but destroyed the benefits of face to face relationship building and will soon cause the death of what ever part of the brain handles that function.
PP I only say this to say that we have far greater things to worry about then rappers. Any kid with half decent parents can listen to all the rap music in the world and not be affected by it one bit, however .. the way we caommunicate can be changed forever by two peers txting in my opinion

The differences are many. You can explain to a kid that, first, it's just a movie. Second, following your example, tell them this isn't really how things were in the wild west. It was rough place and time, and while there were "heroes" (lawmen), it was generally just a fucked up place and time to live. The point is you can tell them it's fiction, not real, acted by actors. Art imitates reality, but most of the time it exaggerates a lot.
As for rappers, how do you explain to anyone that what they're talking about isn't real? The point of rap is that it SHOULD be real. If you are 13- 16 year's old and you hear some ignorant fuck brag about his money, chains, bitches, guns and murders, and at the same time you see this guy is living large and having all this fame and wealth, how can that not affect a kid? Obviously not all rap is negative, there are a lot of rappers who talk about real-life situations and there are some with very positive lyrics, too. But then there are also those that put out one positive track and then on every other song they are talking about moving drugs, packing heat, pimping hoes, etc.
