Microsoft actually came out with a pretty damn good free product: Free antivirus/malware/spyware/antiphishing suite: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Blows AVG out of the water and good competition for Kaspersky

I installed this over 2 weeks ago and it works great. No annoying popups or any shit like that. Make sure your Windows is a valid license.
