how do i clean a phone with cola in it?
bout a month ago i knocked over a glass of rum&coke all over my cellphone.... i let it dry and it worked, but the clock reset every time i switched it off and on and some other small but annoying things. So i got a new phone - but i like my old one better... is there a way i can still clean it? Maybe dip it into water or something and let it dry again? I have a feeling theres still rum&coke in the inside.

You can try rinsing it in rubbing alcohol, I have been TOLD this works, but never dared try it, so try it at your own risk.

Just admit that the sticky stuff is spunk.
Seriously though, you can try soaking it in a light grade mineral oil since its non-conductive and won't ruin the circuits. Note that I said mineral oil, not motor oil.

I use this on all of my electronics... I believe Home Depot / Lowes carries it, I get them through a friend.

Soak it in the purest alcohol you can find
Better yet open it up and clean it, then soak it in the alcohol Make sure it is not powered when you do this.. |

I'd say you'd be looking at a manual cleaning job. Might be easier to get a second hand replacement on ebay. |
