Help! Selling an item on Craigslist...fishy reply...am I about to get scammed here??

Ok...this is not complicated...but seems a bit fishy to me...I need your help, really.
I am selling my used Axim PDA on craigslist for $200. I got a reply asking if it was available, I replied yes, then I get this following reply:

"I want to purchase this item to my lovely

Son as agift so i will offer you $300 including the shipping cost to

her so get back to me with your paypal so that i can make the payment as soon

as possible.

Thanks"

Two things here...First, he offers me $300 paypal instead of $200, and I didn't even ask for more. $100 for shipping?? If he's that rich, why doesnt he buy a new one instead of mine?
Second, he says ''to my lovely Son", then he says "shipping cost to her"

WTF is this? Is this some scam I'm missing...the only thing I can think of is a paying with a stolen paypal account, or the other thing would be him opening a dispute as buyer after the sale....
Any ideas??? Thanks!

I have had this happen before, and I replied out of curiosity. Here is what is going to happen...they will send you a fake email that looks like it is coming from Paypal saying that you have the money. A few minutes later they will send you another fake email saying the money is being held by Paypal until you provide them with a shipping number and signature from the person receiving the item. Of course when you login to your Paypal there will be no money there.

They are Nigerians sending out mas emails in the hope that a few idiots will send the item without confirming that the money is actually in their Paypal account. When I got those emails I emailed them back telling them to suck my cock, and a few days later got a fake email from the FBI (it came from an address like like [email protected]) saying thay i would be arrested if I didn't ship the item, and the whole email was misspelled "Engrish". If they fucking bombed Nigeria I wouldn't shed a single tear...

It's an old trick - overpay the seller by "accident" then ask them to refund the difference. The seller finds out later that the original payment was fraudulent.

I've seen some ridiculous versions of this, like sending someone $4000 for a $500 product...

Scam, You will get a fake email from Paypal saying you received a payment. Then they email you and say they paid and need the item shipped fast.

You should run the other way and not look back. This is a textbook scam on CL. NEVER SHIP using CL. NEVER. I would require CASH ONLY. If someone offers you a MO on the weekend, ignore them -- that is a well known scam too. These fucking thieves should all die!
