You know, like you see here

you should email that guy and ask him about it. i have bought several themes off of him, and had him work up a few white labels for me. he is very helpful and has great deals on his themes

A simple , configurable one is Featured Content Gallery, other ones I've got on sites I think are just coded for that theme.

Arras theme (free) has that built in.
It scrolls itself + can be browsed. Also a lot of themes on press75.com (think i got that right) have them type of features. |

its pretty easy to do, just look at some demos sites, and to convert it into wordpress code just get an attachment image from a post.
