New Affiliate program needs your input before launch
I've been writing an Affiliate program over the last little while and it is just about done.
Im at the point now where i need webmasters to come and check it out and offer me any form of feedback so i can put the final touches on this thing and launch it. Check out http://www.fasti.net , Signup, play around and let me know what you think of it. when you sign up you will need to confirm your email address. Once you confirm your email address you can log in and change it in the profile editor, if your worried about me spamming you. First sites we're going to be launching with is DVDEra.Com which is an online DVD store and you will earn 5% commission off every sale, even repeat sales! The other site we're going to be launching with is Smut-Video.com which is a video archive site and should do extremely well. This isnt a promotion, the affiliate program isnt open yet, we're not accepting traffic right now and if you promote anything while we finish our affil you will not be paid. This is just a request for information. Joe |

5% of everyone anyone ever places (as long as you referred them) is ludacris? means more money for webmastrer since usually the first orders arent. The upsell to smut-video.com you get 50% recurring, but then again, the smut-video.com site only sells fluff not real product. Joe |

Craptacularbucks.com, 3% revenue on monthly rebills. FOR LIFE!! LIFETIME COOKIES. Affiliates deserve far more than 5%, even for a DVD type site. Most adult toy stores with affiliate programs over between 15 and 30 percent, and i've seen some with about 20-25 percent that offer recurring payouts also (using cookies, obviously). This is the crappiest affiliate program i've ever seen. I'd make more money pissing on hobos and asking people that pass by for donations so i can go buy more beer. |

Ok then, Show me ONE DVD Affiliate site who offers you 20-35% recurring commission on every order. I know of DVD sites which do the 20-35% commission on the initial sale but nothing more. I think you're too use to selling fluff. If you want 30% of the initial order and no recurring let me know and i'll program the stats to support that as well. what exactly is crappy, the programs we offer or the affiliate program itself? My prices on the DVDS are a lot cheaper and what you dont make with the sale of one DVD you will make back when the orders are 5+ dvds since our prices are the lowest out there. Now, with DVDS we sell for about $14USD cheaper than others where do you think they'll keep ordering from? Also, where they only have 1700 dvds online DVD Era has over 8,000 dvds online. Sure it doesnt make a difference on the recurring commission rate but it DOES make a difference when more dvds are ordered because of more selection. Simple eh? ![]() |

DVD's are more expensive in Australia to begin with. Point is, their profit margins are probably even less than yours to begin with. Far less when the affiliate comes into play, as they offer a generous percentage, and you rip the affiliate off.

There are plenty of facts you dont know about our business which haves costs. 1) im from canada, 2)80% of those dvds cannot be sold on canadian shelfs because they're not approved by the film board. They cost money to store. The amount of money paid on duty coming in is unreal. Anyways, have you actually ordered from these guys? i'm willing to bet the orders are probably shipped from the USA (if they're doing serious numbers) because that is what would make sense. As for me ripping the affiliate off? I dont think so. Our prices are low, we work off volume more than raping the customer for $$$ when they order our product. When you offer someone a valued service, with good prices and lots of selection they will always come back. I have customers who spend about 500 USD monthly, each, on the site. Maybe upping the % is something to be done in the future when the volume of our sales increases but for now to up the prices of the DVDS to increase the webmaster payout would only have a negitive effect on the site by lowering the amount of dvds order per order. The model seems to be working with my traffic. |

Once the surfer finds the stuff they want for cheaper they're gone and will become a user of that site instead and then you get nothing instead of something. People are always looking for the best deals out there, the cheaper the DVD the better it is. That is been the basis of business since the begining. Dont get me wrong you make some good points.. Im considering adding 5% to the price of the dvds and paying out an extra 5% on the commission but 30% is too much to tax on. I guess if im the only one who this makes sense to on here then i must have a vision. A BEST BUY kind of deal for adult dvds! |

Just my
![]() 5% Will be a tough number to get many webmasters to signup for honestly. I understand what you are trying to do, but most guys pushing traffic to you don't care how you treat your customers it's all about a bottom line. You have to get that up to the 20% range in order to get the traffic. Also you may want to add a tier system over under 500.00 20% over 500.00 25% etc. Now this will give webmasters a little more reason to push your site, plus you will be able to get better discounts from your wholesaler. On the smut-video.com you need to break down your niches as it sits you have a mile long scroll. Just you some simple text links to break down your niches would help the surfer to get to where he needs to be. Didn't look hard, but looks pretty good Best of luck with it ![]() |

OK let's take a look at some numbers. You say you site would sell the DVD's for $500, which the other site sells for $800
$500 @ 5% = $25 $800 @ 25% = $200 But let's look at it coming from the other direction, If I made the sale at site B, and made $200 in commission, and then that customer never came back but instead went to your store, what would he have to buy from you to make me that same $200. $200 at 5% is $4000 in sales does is seem very likely in your mind that your average customer is going to spend $4000 in the next 3 to 5 years with you, I doubt it !!! The key in affiliate sales are who is going to make you the most $$$'s from your traffic, not who has the best deal's for the customer!!! Tim ![]() |

Oh, so give the surfer's the best possible price, by giving the webmaster's as little as possible? Nice way to get an affiliate program started. If you want to give your surfer's the best possible price, you have to be prepared for a reduced profit margin. Affiliates shouldn't be subjected to a shitty partnership because you're not prepared to lower your profit margin with lower prices. |

Simple solution:
setup another website with higher prices for your affiliate program, and setup keep the website with lower prices as it is. Everyone's happy. |
