Just following up on a thread on gfy here today.

Do you believe in Jesus Christ?

I believe that there probably was a man that was wandering around roughly 2000 years ago who may have made a stir. I don't believe that he was the 'Son of God' as I don't believe in the Christian God as specified by the Bible and popular religion.

Whether there is an all powerful force out there somewhere giggling at us slowly fucking ourselves in the ass - well that is possible but in no way proveable. It is also more believable than ANY of the current popular religions from Islam to Roman Catholosism.

So Jesus, or someone like the description in the Bible's New Testament of such a man, probably did live. Was he a big, all powerful immortal - doubtfully. I certainly don't think so.

Jesus was a disciple of John the baptist, after his beheading he took over.

There is historical writings of John the Baptist being crucified and his beheading as well. But NONE of a Jesus being cricified, and they kept records.

I was brought up in mainstream Christianity and so I have done NO formal research into what could have actually happened. Its actually pretty ironic that I've come away with an understanding of the religion but absolutely NO belief in it whatsoever. I find it very believable that it was actually John the Baptist who caused all the ruckus.

The other thing that has always made me giggle is how Jesus is always portrayed as a white guy with slightly olive skin and long flowing light brown hair. IF Jesus lived, he would have been a dark skinned arab/african looking guy with darkbrown/black hair. I love the way that the Europeans totally changed mainstream religion back in the dark ages to suit themselves!
