Again - dedicated vs shared ip

I just get a reverse Ip lookup on one of my domain names hosted by a sponsor and I get a list of several domain names and this message:

"It appears that the web server located at --.-.-.--- may be hosting one or more web sites with explicit content. The web sites in question are highlighted in red below. There is a possibility that all of the web sites on this web server may be blocked by web filtering software. Search engine rankings for these web sites may be affected as well."

So not only spam websites will fuck your shit but explicit or adult web sites may block all mainstream domains on same IP.

Is this all true ? Or this is a myth ?

I think the words you should pay attention to to are "possibility" and "may be blocked."

That being said, I would never share an IP with sites that were not my own.

As I said on the other thread I moved my stuff to a new host with a dedicated ip, but my stuff include 2 mainstream websites.

My adult websites area all legit, no spam, no ilegal stuff, so they should not compromise the mainstream ones, right ?

Just have your host put each domain on its own ip and problem is solved..

Did not see the other thread. We pretty much keep our adult and mainstream stuff separate.

Search engines are a little smarter than that in 2009 however filtering software companies are not, so its still best to keep your non adult and adult on seperate servers/ ip addresses. Makes it easier to manage too and theres a crap load of reverse IP sites/ domain info sites out there that you non adult surfers/ affliate programs might look at.
