I used their Spicy Steak a few times, but I think McCormick's is better as far as taste.
Their Montreal Steak is out of this world. http://www.mccormick.com/Products/Gr...Seasoning.aspx

We recently filled our spice rack (about 15 jars) with the spiceislands brand. Was not cheap, if you looked at their prices. I am in love with this chipotle though. Kickass! BTW, the steaks were awesome! |

I grabbed some Montreal Steak seasoning last time I was in the States but then I stopped eating much meat and still haven't used it yet. I will have to eventually try it out.

theres 2 marinades that I really like you should try them for steak and chicken. 1 is called 'Dales' and the other is called 'Carribean Jerk' both really good..

my wife is deathly allergic to red and black pepper, so most of those spices are out.
I rub the steak with olive oil, salt it and dust it with garlic powder. Once her steak is out of the kitchen, I usually hit mine with pepper or lemon pepper. |

My oldest son uses all of that stuff on his steaks when he cooks...... but me, I just use garlic and that's it. I prefer the taste of the meat in it's own juices. ESPECIALLY if it is grilled. I don't even use steak sauce, which my family all thinks is insane..... until THEY tried it like that. If I use anything, I pour some of the drippings from the pan into a bowl and dip it in that, only if it is really dry though. lol
I think I can get by with this though, who's ever seen a dry ribeye? The only steak I eat. lol |

Depending on the cut of meat I'm happy to just eat it as natural as possible, a bit of salt and pepper mostly.

i too am happy with just salt and pepper, perhaps a slice of herb butter at the end.
i just can not see myself paying ten to twenty times the cost of the spices just because someone else mixes them together for you. really hits home when either salt or pepper is the first or second ingredient listed. |
