				How many IP addresses required?

Lets say you got a domain gfy.com and then you are going to setup ns1.gfy.com and ns2.gfy.com would you point them both to a single IP address or purchase another IP and then have them each on a unique IP?

			Any advantage or disadvantages? Thanks

Ok, so let's say, I have a beer in my hand. How many seconds will it take before I drink it?

What if you have two beers, one in each hand, how many seconds will you take to drink them?

It's good practice to have at least two separate name servers on separate networks. (That means different physical networks, ie different hosts, not just different IPs at the same host)

Anyway - Lets say i have the IP address 11.11.11.11, I point ns1.gfy.com and ns2.gfy.com, would you point the nameservers to this one IP address or get another IP address say 22.22.22.22 and have them each on their own unique IP addresses? Is there any advantage of this? Lastly, lets say you got a beer in each hand and your own cock in your mouth, how long will you take to drink the beers?

The very best way to do this is to have TWO servers with TWO seperate IP addresses assigned to two seperate VLAN ports. The ip space should in best case, be from widely seperate ranges. This helps in the event there is a routing issue with one range that does not affect the othere and therefore provides better fail-safe operation.

Host with us, I'll set it all up for you. And I wont charge you for the extra ip just to make sure your site is up and running. Thanks! www critical net |
