It happened to me once when I took plane flight on an other than Amercian airline...
I didn't eat all the food that they handed out because I was feeling sick and I overheard one of the attendants say "typical Amercian"..  |

when i was over in Italy I did a bit, but as long as you try and speak their language they cut you some slack.
however trying to learn Italian, Spanish is pretty close and when I was in AC a little while ago ordering food at 2am, I caught one of the waiters talking smack in Spanish. It was pretty funny to see the look on his face when he knew what I was saying
