smokey's rep. > online dating sponsers

The only reason I came to this thread was because I saw Smokey posted it, and he's not someone I consider a troll or a surfer. I was a bit disappointed when I read the whole paragraph of post, but am not horribly surprised that the title of the thread has been changed.

Holy shit, that BlackHat forum has got a lot of fucking members.
I wonder, though... could they have picked a more hideous design / color scheme? |
The only thing anyone truly noticed in this post is who the Bro's are.
Honestly, the words/actions of owners/programs in this thread about makes me want to vomit in my mouth just to have something to swallow. |

Owners thinking it hurt them, actually making threats, others jumping in to suck bro cock, all pretending like a rep got hurt or something... ONLY because it's a buddy. <-- see that, if it was me or you, it wouldn't be the same. |
2 things here
1 a webmaster who rings a bell 2 owners trying to learn the webmaster he is not correct are owners thinking surfers are on this board? The income is from there? Cause me reading this as webmaster, care to know what I think? I need more of these postings to see the real deal, and I am not waiting to get my eyes blurred by sponsors tickling each others asses. Facts we deal here with. Fact is also that this banned webmaster is unknown... must all be a joke? or cause we are so focused on trying to correct smokey that this thing gets whipped away to the background? The adult industry prides itself with honesty, and yet, GFY is still doing her job, ringing bells and knocking on doors....Also, reading this , sponsors hate these kind of confrontations, they even hire a couple of sigwhores here that jump in post 2 and ask if you yet emailed them about this.... GFY is about this... Fucking with sponsors...Deal with it, and make sure you got some reps who make it all go away on the moment it is created. If you dont have that power, yeah, running behind facts ends up in calling your expensive 250K lawyer. End of my webmaster opinion, back to work. see ya all... |

Although I didn't have a chance to see the thread title as it's original state, which I assume is the same as what the thread title at blackhatworld was, I know for a fact from my years being here and seeing how Smokey posts, he had no ill will and didn't mean to harm any reputation of DatingGold's especially for sig views...
Also I haven't dealt with DatingGold (user), or AK much, but I love the fucking shit out of Jayvis, even when he's sends me weird face pictures over xbox live, I'd have his back for anything, good fucking guy. I don't agree with how DatinGold (user) threatened to sue Smokey to "make a point". It was a little over the top, especially to continue with it. Quote:

When you're a top advertiser you have more lean on what you can do over being a troll. P.S. Cool story bro! |

Bros? Is it in my interest to be buddy buddy with them? Quite the contrary, from a slimy business point of view it would be in my interest to leave the thread as is, expecting affiliates to skim through the thread not get the joke, and decide against DG, thereby increasing our chances for signing up those affiliates. Instead, I'd like to believe there's mutual respect, both personal and professional, therefore we don't have to resort to such methods. Respect as opposed to "being Bros". Additionally, if i did not care about Smokey, i would not have spent the time writing a reply to try and explain a business owner's perspective. And the way i see it the point got across, if i thought he lacked the comprehension skills i would not have spent the time. Yes, the forum is called GFY but that does not mean it's a playground where anything goes if it has the potential to hurt someone's business. Which one would you rather have more of? A few business owners trying to share their point of view with an affiliate or affiliates telling a female representative of a program that she 'could get the penis'? I'm not saying not to have fun, but let's get real and let's act a bit more mature. (it is not my intention to single anyone out, merely an example) Using the "Bro" blanket statement/excuse to try and explain something you don't understand or don't agree with will merely lead to increased hostility between affiliates and program owners. |

Well, anyone that only read the title and didn't click on it, affiliate or not, didn't think anything bad of DG. If they did, you didn't lose an affiliate or anyone important. Anyone that did click it, and saw what he posted, clearly wouldn't think anything bad of DG, not that they ever needed to click the thread. After that point, it was a reverse attack but only Programs over something that is totally retarded in the first place. Something that a "professional that did nothing wrong" would have laughed off, joked about, made quotes about. And so you are clear, Bro doesn't mean friend, buddy, or fag partner. It's your backing, your online butt buddies that will stand up for you even when you're wrong. |
rude thread title, but legally I would guess that the disclaimer he had in the title (the "maybe") was enough to make the title ambiguous enough to not carry any legal ramifications, just a guess though..... but it was still kind of rude of him unless he was really trying to cause grief for dg :2 cents:

i think the *poking* struck a chord for many who've put blood, sweat, and tears into building their brands. it's simply pride in what has been built. |

You can take any program in this business, I don't care who it is. And change the name tomorrow, forward the traffic (if needed) and as long as Webmasters are paid - It's perfectly fine, the brand isn't needed - design, graphics, not even a name is needed. And nothing would change... because with programs the 'people/owners' are the brand, and the content websites for surfers. Thinking you have a brand to Affiliates is about as silly as thinking Affiliates are loyal. |

The rules are there for a reason, and they specifically state what sig size the top advertisers are allowed to have. Pull your nose out of Mickeys ass, open your cum-stained eyes and go read it up, boy. http://i31.tinypic.com/35iq2xl.jpg |

bro club? sure, why not. but the point remains, many non-bros think the bait and switch thread was inappropriate. |

If companies were damaged so badly by threads, half of the adult programs would be out of business. |

Originally it said that DatingGold were scammers. |
Quote:
Do you feel DG's brand or name was hurt, tarnished, etc because of his post? Of course not, and "that's the point." |
So I guess you can be an above board dating program and get pissed off when people jokingly associate your name with scam, but then have shitpiles of fake profiles on your site and send members fake emails to entice them into becoming a paid member..
I am so confused... |

Edited appropriately to reflect the change. My bad. |
so...... what happened to the original topic at hand? any news on this?

Money talks, and bull shit walks. Maybe if you stopped trying to be the internet's coolest guy maybe you're opinion would matter, but based on most of your replies that I seen, nobody would be making any "Where did San go? Is he Ok?" like you see for AfterShockMedia (speaking of...). Cool story again bro. |
Quote:
many of the comments here reflect this. it's not cool to fuck with someone's business just because one thinks it's cute to start fake drama threads. regardless of if there was harm done. if i was the owner of dg and sitting on a pile of cash, i might find it funny to kick the op's ass all through the legal system just because i think it's funny and that's ok, you know why? cause i think it's funny. |

It's not what I feel, it's a fact. It has been proven at least 100 times. People can take the names they built up, serious if they like. But it's the ego that shows how people really are when it's over something that wasn't an attack. DG's lawyers wouldn't give this a 2nd go, I would bet they couldn't force a lawyer to take it. And no company would risk the loss for such a frivolous law suit either. That's because it wasn't an attack, of any kind. Clearly you are a 'friend' nickname.. I'm done. |

i've stated and restated my view, it's unfortunate that you are more interested in being right than understanding what is going on. |

at this point, i think its best if you hire a mediator to resolve this situation before it gets way out of hand.. :2 cents: |

thedoc has always struck me as level headed so i trust he and i can disagree and he won't go off simply because i have an alternative view on something as silly as this thread. |
To me it was obvious when you opened the thread, he was trying to be funny. Instead of threatening to sue Dating gold should be giving smokey a gift for giving them a more focused platform of people talking about how great they are.Which is worth more than any 5k banner on this site.
