First off make a day to come out to Brooklyn, if its over the weekend. neighborhoods you should visit are Park Slope, Williamsburg, and Fort Greene. There is lots of fun stuff to do on the weekend. As for the city...hmmm... the city is a tourist trap... and not in a good way. I suggest going down into the Lower east side and Soho....

Exactly, you're talking about one of the biggest and best cities in the world here

I guess it depends what you like doing. As far as popular tourist destinations are, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a must-see, even if you're not into art. Plan a full day.

I personally liked just walking through Central Park, shopping on 5th, and trying to eat at as many different restaurants as possible.

You'd probably appreciate Canal st

Thats a nice hotel. I stayed there the week it first opened a few years ago. You are right down the road from the famed Carnegie Deli, I recommend that for sure. I haven't been to NYC during the hotter months so I don't know much to do during the day.

Is it adults only, or do you have kids with you as well?

I don't know how committed you are, but those shows usually have a standby list you can get on if you go out there 4 or 5 hours before the show starts.

Live comedy (Upright Citizens Brigade, stand up) and live shows (musical theater, music performances) are always at the top of my list when in the city. It's cool to go to UCB if you are an SNL fan because you'll see your faves from UCB pop up on SNL a couple months/years later.

I am in NYC every week Wed to Friday. I fly in on Wed at 6 AM , work 8 AM to 8 PM and on Friday take the 9 PM flight back home. Even though I stay at the mid town W, I have done zero tourist stuff.
