Seems like an awful cleaver way for certain protection companies to possibly get some business.
1. Scout out some paysites that are not using your software. 2. Obtain a membership to those sites. 3. Post that information so anyone can use them. 4. Repete until you have a good sized list. 5. Drop the url containing the list on a webmaster board. 6. Have someone make a few posts that say, to bad they were not using xyz software. 7. Wait for orders. |

If I was going to move your theory forward I would say that XYZ password protection software company would simple search out the lists and then post them here and follow up about their product further along the thread. This would remove them from the risk of being traced back by their credit card numbers and save them the expense and time of signing up to all the sites in the first place. Thats just me though.... ![]() |

Actually with Digital Rights Managment password lists will be a thing of the past. With our Digital Rights Managment solution "Dominion" you can post as many user name and passwords as you want, but if the end user doesn't have the right license sitting on their hard drive, the file won't play, thus eliminating password trading.

Pennywize used to drag down site performance to 0 if you got on a trading site. DO they still use SSI?
I use iprotect which is compiled into Apache and therefore protects paysites without any performance penalty. |

It often resets all totals and that is daily. Yet the traffic is low right now anyway. I just happen to run it day to day, I do not own it. The owner of it is currently reworking his network of sites and until that is finished the toplist will not have much in the way of traffic. When that network of sites is back up I know that the list will recieve a great deal of traffic again. As for rereading my post, I did. Doesnt say you, doesnt even say pennywize. But who the fuck cares. |

Hey guys, what about a system like the AVS's use, I mean ALL of the AVS's have this kickass software that basicly disables the account once more than 1 person has logged in. it doesn't kill the password just makes it useless when more than 1 person login at once. Is there a place you can go to get hooked up with that sort of protection?

Sammy,
Currently yes it does only work with movies, and audio files but we as a company are working on something that would allow you to import still images into a wmv files, kinda of like a java push. Once we have the still images in a wmv slide show of sorts, we can protect that. As far as the password sites still being up and running, that is probably true, but like i said, even if a username and password gets posted with our sytem the file will not open. See our system does not use the username and password to authenticate users. It uses the username, password, and a license key that allows the content to be opened. If they key isn't on the persons harddrive, it doesn't matter if you have the username and password, the file still won't open. naz |
