i see double with 1 eye, left my contacts in while sleeping

ive got contacts and i sometimes leave em in when i sleep, this time i left em in for 2 days and nights. When i woke up today one eye was different, i thought it was smudge on the contact or something.... i took em out and now a couple hours later i still see double with 1 eye... its sunday so i thought id ask the gfy docs, maybe people with contacts had this? Its like the lens on my eyeball is damaged or something
i also had lots to drink yesterday but thats not it, i think the sleeping with the contact in is the cause that it started irritating the eye or something.

I don't wear contacts, but I've had the double vision in one eye a few times when I woke up and could feel something in my eye. Each time I think it was better by the next morning.

I am assuming you have "soft" contacts that allow you to sleep in them. Go see a doctor. I have never heard or had this experience. I have worn contacts for over 20 years. The pair I have in now have been in for 4 years ... no problems. Everyone is different.

Wish I could tell ya....I would NEVER leave contacts in for two days....I can't possibly see how one can forget to take them out for that long unless they were up on a two day cocaine binge....

It's rare that you see double with one eye. usually dv is caused by your eyes seeing two different pictures, a sorta misalignment, that would go away if you closed one eye. Your case sounds like a sorta constant trauma issue. I'd go to a real eye doctor and get it checked out, though you were right to ask the pornographers first, of course. ;)

I've only slept with my contacts in one time. When I woke up I had blurred vision the rest of the day. Then it went away.

I had a girlfriend that would fall asleep with them in almost everyday, then she would bitch about how her eyes were always irritated..lol.

I'm curious to try those contacts you wear at night and take out in the morning. They bend your eyes so you have perfect vision when you wake up.

I can't believe so many of you people leave the same pair of eyeball mucous-covered lenses scraping against your eyeballs for days, weeks or months at a time! The daily disposables are so much better. Throw them out every night, and give your eyes a rest free from irritation when you sleep. And you always awake refreshed and have a fresh pair every morning for two bucks per day. Your eyesight is precious, don't take any chances!

Some people say go with the throw aways,

some people say go with the breathable kind like Acuvue Advanced II.

I've slept in my contacts plenty of times, and I've never had double vision.

It's probably just a coat of slime on your eye, try wiping it with something clean.

they are all good, when you have hard contacts (like mine) you clean them every day before sleeping... im wearing the same pair contacts for the last 4 years or so.. ?250 for both. So theyre cheaper then yours! (not counting the cleaning fluid )

My sister used those lenses you can sleep in. You can leave them in for up to 3-4 I believe. Wow. What a horribly stupid idea. She had been doing it continuously for a year or so when she damaged/scraped/scratched her cornea and couldn't see for almost a week and had to miss work and school because she couldn't drive half blind....

I was always like-why are you so lazy? Why don't you just buy the kind you take out every night so you can sanitize them and give your eye some rest? Blech....I buy monthlies (slightly cheaper) and I clean them every night and physically rub the lenses with solution for another few seconds to make sure there is no remaining residue on the lens.
