Your worst job

Did you ever have to clean toilets? How about take care of old smelly people?

What did you do that paid shitty and almost made you lose every shred of integrity you THOUGHT you had ('cause you know you don't have any, never did).

I've never worked at a place that sucked. Worst job was as a grocery clerk and it just sucked because I had to lift all kinds of heavy shit, I worked around guys twice my age who fucking hated life, and all the female cashiers had to be at least 80 years old (no eye candy I tell ya!).

Hmm I must admit I was a professional ass wiper for 4 years!!! It was a good job for the most part...making the old people happy was great and of course doing the dirty deed of cleaning them after dinner and at bed time was not one of the perks.

All in all, I had fun...but couldn't deal with 9.00 an hour which is what I was making after TWO YEARS. Blech.

I was a bill collector too...that was great!!!

One summer when I was in university I worked for a temp agency. One of the assignments was reconditioning used vacuum cleaners for Shop-Vac. The job itself wasn't that bad, it was pleasant in an asetic sort of way. The problem was the other workers, they kept telling me to work slower so the job would last longer. I learned a lot about "people" at that job.

That would be horrible. I can't stand being around the elderly. I know it's bad but they have all kinds of diseases and then the smell.

I don't know my grandparents, but if I did, they would've been out the door anyway.

Webmaster for a .com, working in a Microsoft shop.
The website got like 10,000 hits a day and IIS would always crash. All I knew how to do was stop and restart the services.

For this I had a pager and a cellphone so on sunday morning I could call the noc to tell them to stop and restart the services.

I worked at White Hen (a convenience store) when I was 16. I used to sit in the walk in cooler and eat lunchables and frozen candy bars from the cooler. I would put the trash under the pallets of pop. The store had an employee meeting win the trash was uncovered. I denied it all.

You know, it really was not THAT bad. The worst part was when one of my patients would die...that was very hard...especially since I had to clean them and get them ready for the undertaker.

lol, forgot that. Working at a grocery store did have its perks. We had fucking gourmet meals in the backroom. We knew where the cameras were and could steal undetected.

Back in the day, I used to be a diesel and big rig mechanic. I started at this new shop, and it took me about 1 day to realize that the owner was an asshole with a serious temper. That wasn't bad enough, but being the new guy in the shop, I was made the on-call mech. On the third day I got a call at 3 AM to go fix a semi stalled on the highway. It was in Michigan, in the dead of winter, and about 15 degrees below zero, with cars whipping by me on the highway as I attempted to get this piece of shit big rig running. This semi had been so poorly maintained that as far as I was concerned it should be burned to the ground. Anyway, the next day after watching the owner throw a wrench across the shop because he busted a knuckle, I quit

No, it was not THAT bad.

My first experience with death was this guy who was SO friggin grouchy...he just didn't want to be there, he felt he could take care of himself. His wife was with him...and she died. He died a few days later.

The head nurse told me to clean him and I just *gulped* and asked if someone else could do it...I was not ready!!! Nope...get yer butt in there and do it!!

So...another aide and myself went in (she was used to this) and she rolled him toward her side so his bum was facing me...well he passed gas but it was unheard basically and just flew right up my nose...well...no time to turn my head even and BLECH all over!!!!

Not only did I have to bathe a dead person, but I had to clean up my vomit AND got written up!!!

But it definitely got easier...eventually became kinda routine.

I worked night shift at a convenience store and was robbed at gunpoint. The guys were actually arguing about whether they should kill me or not. Crackheads. They were arrested about ten minutes later.

Convenience store wasn't very convenient for me.

Being in Haiti after Hurrican Gordon blew thru and mudslides killed about 15,000 Haitians. The next few days was full of pulling bloated bodies out of mud and putting them in body bags.

I was a dumb fuck believe and trust people kind of person back in my early 20's. Went to work with this couple who had developed a software program to print banners, which you can do easily nowadays, but back then you wouldn't believe how much hardware we needed.

Anyway the guy promised me the world in terms of stock ownership once we were really going strong. People could order the banners for office parties, birthday parties, things like that. They were about 12 feet long and cost $7.95.

The guy talks me into driving all over southern california to setup our sample displays in SavOn drug stores who had agreed to distribute the banner order forms. Had to do this at 200 stores and only got paid a couples cents per mile.

The product really took off and we were getting about 800 orders a day. I had to type in all the order info. Then after the printers were done, I had to read and check every banner, and then fold them all up. Then stuff them in envelopes. Then stamp them. Then drive to the main post office annex. It was just me and him and his wife and I did all the work.

Did this for a year and the company was making money like crazy and I kept saying to this so called partner when would I get my stock certificates. Then one day I confronted them and said enough already, I've been busting my balls, working 15 hours a day to get this thing going and I shouldn't have to wait a year to get my stock that was promised.

Then the they said to me we changed our minds about giving out any stock to anyone outside the family. I went ballistic obviously.

Totally used me for a year. I walked away totally disillusioned.

First off I definetly can't beat cleaning up after old people.

My worst job would be a drugstore. I worked the register and stocked shit. You'd think it'd be easy but the damn place was in the "old money" area of NJ and all those rich fucks gave me so much hell I had to grind my teeth so I wouldn't say anything nasty. If you have seen "Clerks", quadruple that experience.

Every Italian guy (which there was plenty of) acted like he was made. God forbid you make a mistake reading his last name off the prescription label. "You think that's funny? How the fuck am I funny? Am I a fucking clown? Do I amuse you?"

Every old fart that pulled an oxygen tank behind them smoked the most fucked up cigarettes. We're talking 2-3 packs per day. They'd walk right outside the store and insert those cigarettes in a blow-off valve thingy in their freaking throats. They would also dare to ask for rainchecks if their kind of cigarettes were not in stock.

I lasted for about a month. They made me work on Christmas Eve and then I got screamed at by the manager for being $1.36 cents short. I replaced the holiday tape in a singning Christmas tree (one of those scary toys with moving eyes that sings when you get close) with the one of The Ramones and glued the lid with Krazyglue. Gave my 5 minute notice and I was out of there. Two weeks later I received my second paycheck for 40-something dollars.

In the UK dealers cannot accept tips, work ungodly hours for little pay and we can't go into a casino while we hold a license - EVER.

Only reason I worked there - georgeous women everywhere.

I've had lots of shitty jobs. For a while I worked for a temp agancey that sent me on one nightmare assignement after another.

The worst was working on a sanitation crew in a meat packing plant. They had these assembly lines with big machines and at set intervals they would shut the lines down and we would come in dressed in our rubber suits and wash everything down. I left at lunch break on my first day there and never went back.

well, there was the time in the 6th grade that I worked as a newspaper boy for a throw away newspaper. Delivered twice a week - Wednesday was the big advertising edition, and had 250 to toss, Sunday was a thin edition and only 125.

In order to get paid I had to go door to door and ask them if they wanted to get the paper everytime, they would pay $.50/mo and I got $.30 of it. Of course I had to pay for my own rubberbands. It really sucked. Was like the TGP of the newspaper world.

Then when I was a freshman in high school I worked as a shoeshine boy at a barbershop. Tough job for a white boy

I was a waitress in a greasy-spoon-type diner. My boss was my (now ex) husband's pothead cousin. She was the owner and only other waitress, and half the time she was too stoned to come in to work, so I would end up working 16 hour days, 7 days a week.

And since she was "family" I was supposed to just suck it up and keep my mouth shut.

I cleaned the bathrooms, answered phones, ran the register, bussed my own tables, made salads coffee and hauled my own huge motherfucking soda canisters, mopped the floors, waited tables...you name it. All for $1.50 an hour plus tips, which weren't much -- all these old motherfucking Texas farmers who were so cheap they'd leave me a $0.60 tip from the $0.40 cup of coffee they paid for and I refilled about 900 times.

Sunday mornings were the worst -- round 11am all the holy rollers would come in fresh from church. Whole families of inbred country-fried fucks, complete with 6 or 7 screaming snot-nosed brats, a husband who thought his shit didn't stink, and a big-haired air-headed PTA soccer mom who couldn't be bothered to control her brood of shithead kids. My personal pet peeve was when I'd go over to these tables, ask if they needed anything, and they'd say "Oh no, hun, we're fine", then let me get five or six steps away and they call out, "But we need --"

When my boss did manage to make it to work, she and her brother (who washed dishes) would go off in the walk-in cooler and smoke a blunt, then come out and fuck me up. They'd throw leftover food off the tables at each other at closing time, shit like that...and guess who got to clean it up?

I hated my job, hated the people I worked for, hated the customers. I read somehwere, while I was still working there, that if a food service worker smoked a cigarette and then didn't wash their hands before serving food again, it was just as germ-ridden as if they'd spit in your food.

I'd go take a smoke break, thinking of that the whole time, and then come back and serve my customers with a shit-eatin' grin on my face...without washing my hands first.

used to work in the fields for a bit, then moved up to KFC for about 2 years. Went to college and worked for Hi-Health Nutrition then worked for Arch Communications, then worked for some small shitty pager place, then worked Primco which is Verizon Now i think, then graduated and worked at shell then Moble for a while then finally got my first web design job for some company. then got fucked by them this June. been doing this since then and every employer I ever had can suck my fat cock.

I'd say all the above!

I used to have a paper route and this fuck left his dog outside all the time.
The dog tried to bite me a few times when I'd put the paper in the mail box.

I started rolling up his paper and tossed it to his door because I didn't want the dog to bite me. Well this guy has to nerve to complain to the newspaper, and say I was lazy and stopped putting the paper in his mailbox.

I get shit from the newspaper company and they didn't believe my story over an adult.

My dad found out about this and he went over to talk to the guy. I have no clue what he said, but I never saw dog outside at the front again.

I've definitely had my share of shitty jobs. I worked at a grocery store, that was bad. I got paid about 2 dollars an hour (waaah!) and we had to lift all kindsa heavy shit. I was very young back then...

I also had a job delivering newspapers and advertisements to peoples door. The pay for that was even shittier, I think I worked for a month, an hour each day, and only got 20 bucks out of it. I was even younger back then.

I also worked at a telemarketing company. Those who are familiar with these kind of jobs know about the specs: Shitty work, good pay. I also worked at a helpdesk, that got pretty bad after a while but at least we had a computer there so I could surf online and play Flash games.

As bad as some of my jobs were, I think they did me good in the end. They make me appreciate the Adult biz that much more
