Kevin, is a link to your main site there? Yes. Stop being so sensitive.
What I'm talking about is a GFY problem that's been going on for too long. The hosting guys play dirty on this board. Whenever 1 or 2 people has a imaginary or legit problem with any host 3 or 4 mysterious posters that never post anything on the main board pop up and add excessive salt on the wound. |

Hey man my link is there, always has been, again do you see me pushing a host, no where on my sig or my sites for that matter do I advertise any host. I have seen the flame wars between hosts on this board I do understand were you are coming from. And what I see is a legit issue, webmaster with big problems, guys good luck hope it all works out ok for you. Regards, Kevin |

Oh geez, you must be related to Desirae..... Why are so many paysite owners high on themselves when they only get 20 signups a day? half of those coming from affiliates... I will never know! |

I have other things to do besides talk shit on the boards all day long. I read daily, but I only post when something gets me excited. I dont live by my computer, so if I have free time I dont sit around reading forums. Fact of the matter is, LWI likes to talk shit about everyone else, and when you step on so many toes, people step on yours back. so when a post goes up, one of the regulars reads about it, and it inevitably gets back to the "fair-weather" posters, who have been burned so badly already that they feel obligated to reply. You wanna know why LWI gets flamed when they have downtime? Why dont you take a look at their standard issue sales pitch they make. Here is your like-whoa knight in shining armor: http://www.traffictrader.net/likewhoa.txt THAT is what you call dirty pool.:321GFY |
bottom line TUPAC IS ALIVE!

Happy Turkey day guys, Im off to bed,

"I don't see book-marks as being hosted at likewhoa"
bobo, you are 100% correct. |
funkmaster:
Refresh my memory... didn't you host with likewhoa before? I remember hearing a rumour somewhere that you were good friends with the owner of like whoa. |

General rule of thumb:
If a hosting company pushes their traffic through Cogent, Yipes, or Epik (are they still around?) then don?t expect the fucking world from them. They are so fucking cheap to buy REAL bandwidth and spend a little they more then likely don?t have a redundant network nor anything else they promise (yes there are exceptions to this but not many). Bandwidth from any Tier 1 provider is cheap these days. The ?big boys? like Like Whoa should have some QUALITY bandwidth. I saw their prices and for Yipes bandwidth it sure looks like they are overcharging a ton of people. There support can't be that fucking good if the network has been done this time. Let me guess - It's not there fault! Someone posted that they got kicked out of Level3 ? this was more then likely because they did not pay their hosting bill. L3 will put up with just about anything. Someone else posted that they did not pay Verio because they where working a deal ? That right there would make me switch hosting companies and never look back. Seems like LWI has a track record of not paying their upstream providers if it is true. Yes hosting companies will go down here and there for a few minutes (there are ones who don?t) but these outages for HOURS long that LWI and ColoGroup have been having are UNACCEPTABLE for ANY web site. Hell if I had my family web site down for hours I would be pissed let alone a commercial porn site. Spend the extra couple of bucks and go with a hosting company that sends out through real tier 1 providers (UUNet, ATT, Sprint (iffy), Level3, Qwest, Cable & Worthless). |

That is why I got out of virtual hosting. It is honestly not a good business for hosting companies or webmasters. Our network was fine and our dedicated customers have had great service, but the virtual hosting was a non stop problem. If you have a dedicated server, you control your server and nobody can effect that but your host. When you are on virtual, some people take up a lot of CPU time, some people take a lot of tech time, and you never know when the server is going to spike from a TGP listing. Honestly, it sucks for everyone involved, and look forward to the day, everyone is on some sort of dedicated. As prices drop on computer systems, so will the prices for servers with hosting company. Just thought I'd speak my mind!:thumbsup |

guarantee means fuck all......it's all based on best effort DynaMite |
Some really good hosts credit you if the do'n't meet the SLA
what theydo is at the end of the year the calculate total down time.....let's say the total is 1 day.....then they credit you for 1 day according the monthly fee you pay....for example $300 dollars per month....you will get credited $30 DynaMite |

Our company specializes in developing HA systems and business continuity plans for business critical systems that rely on the Solaris platform. I often laugh at the numbers that hosting companies insert into their marketing fluff. Let's put things in perspective:
Availability Requirement Yearly Monthly 95% 438h 36h 99% 87.6h 7.2h 99.9% 8.76h 43m 99.99% 52.56m 4.3m 99.999% 5.256m 25.92m As you can see 99% uptime leaves a large margin for error. |

proofs not to be enough.......go figure DynaMite :2 cents: |
.. as a matter of the fact 99% uptime still means ~15min downtime every day ...

I just got a sales pitch similar to that the day before they went down. Salesman asked me where I was hosted and came back with "Didn't they just go down?" . I asked if Like Whoa ever went down. He said yes, but they keep their customers informed when they do. Has anyone heard from Like Whoa concerning their downtime? I know the salesman has not been on ICQ during this entire incident. |
hmmm seems like Likewhoa is again down ... so to me they are down 1/2 of the day still for 3 days...
not cool... they were better! Support dont answering my questions etc... David Webmasterland - adult webmaster resource site |

sorry...its not my ISP... Likewhoa is down... yesterday it was the same and on Thursday it was the same... looks like they have some bigger troubles because if they have some simple troubles, they are able to repair it in minutes....but this looks bad... every day few hours down time... we`ll see... UPDATE : now it loading extremely slow with only part of graphics.. the same symptoms like past days.... David Webmasterland - adult webmaster resource site |
Likewhoa is down, down, down
The page cannot be displayed |
After some hours up, it's up & down again, like past days, same problem, 10 minutes loading fine, 10 loading slow, 30 down, and again and again.

ANYONE KNOWS WHY THE FUCK THEY ARE DOWN ?
|
Thanksgiving :eek7

"we had some issues with the network - our traffic shaper acted up for a few minutes " apparently. |
I wonder if they are aware of the problem or they are munching on a turkey
|
Did anyone phone them? I don't have the number, I'd like to know if they are working on it, or are just ignoring it eating a fucking turkey.
Anyone has a number? |
THEY ARE ALL DEAD DRUNK !!
|
Likewhoa is down, down, down
|
it looks like their name servers are unreachable, as well. some errors you see may be "connection timed out" and others would be actual dns failures. hopefully most of you are seeing the former - the latter is more ugly for downtime (e-mail relies on DNS. luckily most mail servers accept it as a soft error, some don't tho.)
