Wolverine movie downloaded over 4 million times.
Just ran across this article and it says they now estimate that the Wolverine movie has been downloaded over 4 million times. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...5bb07f108f27f2 I would imagine the studio is not very happy. |

				 | I downloaded the workprint to check it out. I liked it. Then I went and caught the movie in the theater with a bunch of friends. Wolverine was the top movie with something like $90 million in ticket sales opening weekend?

				 | Workprints are incredible. They're a secret behind-the-scenes that you never, never get to see. I love them. Seen the movie, and the workprint. |

				 | yeah I would love to see that in more DVDs. I watched a movie a while back that had three viewing options on the DVD. You could watch the movie as it was regularly released. You could watch the "director's cut" with most of the deleted scenes in it, or you could watch a version where it popped up a note that a deleted scene was coming up. If you hit OK it would include the missing scene, if not it would skip it. it was kind of cool |

				 | I don't understand why someone would waste their bandwidth, and possibly taint their expectations of a movie they anticipate seeing -- based on an unfinished workprint.

It's the worst way, ever, to watch a movie. I don't know how people can make themselves sit through 1.5 hours of squinting at pixels. Movies are meant to be enjoyed. | |

				 | I never download or watch Pirate materials. Kind of hypocrytical when we all bitch about tube sites etc. Besides its good to watch a really good movie on a huge screen with other people around. Can't beat the "Cinema Experience" |

Downloading or streaming a first-run movie is THEFT. Anyone who does this doesn't ever get to bitch about tube sites stealing their traffic or money. Next, why would anyone base the quality of a movie until its actually finished? A "Workprint" is usually to manage things such as pacing. It can be missing lots of other elements besides visual effects such as color correction, music, sound, etc. Many scenes are also re-shot and re-shot again between the workprint and final print. Finally, if you watch movies on your PC or a handheld, you are denying yourself the thrill of the movie-going experience. PC movie-watchers do NOT get to be critics.

I agree and there are places already doing it. FearNet is a free horror movie site with new movies every Thur. Hulu is another one, great for TV. And you can not beat NetFlix with all the movie you could ever watch, online or DVD, for less than $20 a month. The problem is, we can say adapt or die all we want but the truth is there will still be illegal movies downloaded because people wont want to be bothered by the seeded or ad placement versions. This isn't really an adapt or die mentality, it is a "I want my shit free and as much of it as I can get" mentality.
