Hey all. First of all, the base rate is $10 per record, not $25. Second, that's a one-time fee. That's pretty affordable for a small producer, and a lot cheaper than paying a monthly maintenance fee.

For larger producers, we are happy to negotiate a flat-rate fee, based on projected volume.

It said $25 was the standard fee on your site. Looks like you changed the standard rate to $10 now. That's a bit more reasonable, but I think I still think it will need to be sub $5 to work.

But the issue that I see is you can't just pay to take care of "some" of your model's records. They need to be thoroughly cross referenced by Alias, URLs, content Scenes and Titles. 2257 compliance requires that ALL records be available at the location AND be cross referenced, not just "some". What you seem to offer is the ability for people to send in scant information on "some" models. A person would have to put "all" their models in your basket to be fully compliant and at $10/model, that could add up to thousands of dollars. If someone only has you look after 50% of their model's records, then they are are not compliant. If they put a 3rd party's address on their site but only "some" of their records are available there, then they are not fully compliant if the feds come looking for information on some specific model and they are not in that 3rd party's database structure and thoroughly cross referenced.

Secondly...The fact that you're wrong reflects poorly on your own business.

Don't bother asking me why you are wrong. You're the guy running a 2257 service so you should already know why.

man its like the 2257 wars. lol I wish you guys both the best of luck. But until someone offers something solid for $75 to $125 a month will anyone be successful. This whole thing appeals to the small site owner, a big program or company has people that do that full time. Some model running her own site that basically replaces a ok job cant afford all the money most of these companies are asking for.

I don't even think it is legal to have third parties take care of your 2257 records, the producers is the record holder right? I would think some law firm would have specialized in it quickly if it was legal to have it kept by third party.

Either way, there is no way I would send my models info to a third party, privacy issues etc. Now I have to worry that my content isn't anywhere else with matching 2257. no thanks, we spend a lot of time and effort in our 2257 records and i rather pay someone in my office then ship out these very important documents to someone else and HOPE it get's done right.

That's why these services arent for companies. Its for the solo model who doesn't want her home addy on her site but what they are pricing them at they arent going to get what should be their optimal customer. With the latest version of 2257 they clarified that you can use third party custodians. As long as renting a office is cheaper than using these services its not even a thought for me.
