You never know, he's semi-retired from Microsoft so who knows what he can do. I actually have respect for him. Despite everyone (read Google) claiming to be the one that topples Microsoft, they have earned more and more money for over two decades. That's not just luck or one good idea, that's solid business for 20 years.

His foundation is also funding a ton of research into drugs and medicines. I saw an interview with him on Charlie Rose and was pretty impressed with the work he is doing.

They may as well... can you imagine a Microsoft car that totally functions with your computer or phone or other device? That will come someday.

They dominate. Bottom line. In the home PC, in the SMB market, and in the enterprise. I used to be a Unix sys admin. Figured who wouldnt use Unix. Now I do consulting. No one uses it. Microsoft is everywhere. Right now they are pushing virtualization heavy.

They can't make my msn.com email work with live email thing that came with Vista. They did solve it eventually but can you imagine the bs they would make if they tried something bigger.
