Chemo sucks big time.

Just back from the hospital and 6 days of intense chemotherapy. And it was tough. Started Tuesday and it was fine through to Friday, then it started to take effect. No energy, appetite and vomiting. Now I have to build my strength and weight, lost 4 kilos, to go back in 3 weeks for another session.

My advice to everyone here is kick smoking, cut down drinking and take more exercise. You don't want this.

Ouch. all the best to you, Paul...... you will be in my thoughts. I've had a few family members go thru this and it isn't pleasant at all. Good luck to you hon.

I have started my trek towards not smoking anymore now, so with any luck, I won't be smoking by this time next month. And I never have been a drinker and thanks to Diabetes, I get more excercise now.

I hope you recover quickly.

And thanks for reminding me to quit smoking... In fact, this is as good a time as any to finish my last cigarette.

is there a medical marijuana program where you are?

loss of appetite is one of the main problems accompanying chemo, as well as, nausea, both of which cannabis is prescribed medically in the United States.

we fight for cancer patients with doctors on our side: http://www.safeaccessnow.org

good luck, i want to become a caretaker and provide medicine to patients, will be part of my retirement.

I wish you the best Paul. I really do. I'm so sorry to hear what's happening to you. Right now I have a 28 year old cousin who has throat cancer...he only has a 20% chance of survival and is undergoing intensive chemo. He does nothing but sleep and vomit and has lost over 70 pounds. He has a wife and two children and is now on disability because he (obviously) can't work.

I will keep you in my prayers as I do my cousin.
Please let us know how you are doing.

my dad has been fighting lung cancer for 2 years, and against the prognosis is doing really well now after chemo and radiotherapy. he found eating really tough with no desire to eat at all, but you need all the strength you can get. they prescribed some steroids and that got him eating like a horse, that complan stuff (hi protein milk shake mix) is very useful as well if you can't get anything down and has all your minerals and vitamins. good luck, keep positive and i hope all goes well.

Yeah, the best natural medicane that will have you eating in no time. MUCH safer and usefull than many of the drugs they will try to pump people with.

yes, while many just sit back and get stoned, some of us fight every day for safe access to natural medicine that works, and every day I fight for cancer patients and those suffering.

Its my main goal in life to help others under these tyrannical time, ive been part of this fight for years and continue to push for international change regarding cannabis laws.

Anyone who wants to help us fight, donate today and help make a difference.

http://www.safeaccessnow.org

As I said, my goal is to become caretaker and provide medicine to sick people, old and young cancer patients, you do not need to be shot up with steroids or anything else to eat, medicinal cannabis works wonders, its free and its natural. When it comes to combating nausea, read testimony from doctors and patients and youll find, compared to injected forms of anti-nausea medication, medicinal marijuana is preferred. Ive read docotrs reports on kids 10-18 suffering with cancer, and they feed them brownies with cannabis and they eat, the drugs they tried before failed!

Stand and fight dont just get stoned

cool well I will stop with the questions, its just seems rathetr young for "throat cancer" thats almost a sign that it was soething to do with inhalation or smoke in his throat, this happens to people like bartenders who worked in smokey club for years etc, 28 just seemed young, Id like to know more but undertsnd this isnt the place.

The thing is that Cancer patients are not the only people who need this medication. My wife has Chrons and it would be far more beneficial than the poison they give her like Prednisone. That shit kills you while rotting your bones and nerous system, yet they give it out like candy. It makes me want to puke. This country is ass backwards.

bravo Paul, I am genuinely glad to hear that. Good luck during these difficult times. Many of us are in this fight because we watched family members suffer, and only want to help others who need the support and hand of the compassionate, not the law enforcers.

Sativex and Marinol are synthetic, expensive, and not as good as organic grown plant, hard to control dose etc...so seek out local growers if you must, but do what it takes to eat and live, cannabis will help you.

Word.

I've got chron's disease and self medicate. While it would be nice to do this "legally", it's not really a requirement.

Sorry to hear, hopefully it will be over soon. You might want to consider joining the ACOR lists, lots of support and tricks to overcome these treatments.
best,

Really hope the best for you and Eva! Seriously, had a close relative go through this and it can be a big big pain.

Take care!

I smoked very little, shared a few bottles of wine every week and went out on our bikes in the summer and was active. Yes still got hit.

However a healthy life style reduces the risks.

If I can persuade someone here to get out and walk a few miles everyday, eat better food, quit smoking and heavy drinking it will be good.

I can't say I know all of the details but I know he had lumps in both sides of his throat and that the cancer spread far and thus he was given a 20% chance of survival
