Erm, N Ireland HAD a parliament. The IRA and Sinn Fein fucked it up. It's now temporarily under British rule again since about two weeks ago until the peace process gets back on course.

Yes, i have. I lived in Strabane for about 6 months before my family moved to Dublin, and then down to Clonmel. Of course it's relevant. That's my country, and there's some British soldier, pointing a gun at my head.

I actually care about what goes on in Northern Ireland. I have family there. Not to sound cold, i do find the situations in the middle east to be interesting, but i can't honestly say i <i>care</i> about them.
