Have you ever seen West Ham winning at Old Trafford? I don't think so

About Middlesbrough winning at Stamford bridge? NOPE

Hull City @ Emirates Stadium? hmm don't think so.

So where da fuck is the fun if always the same 4 teams win, what's the excitement?

well this can happen at any given Sunday in Italy.

Only this season:

Cagliari beat Juventus in Turin
Bologna beat AC Milan in Milan
Atalanta beat inter in Bergamo.

Hull BEAT arsenal at the emirates. Why does serie a have the lowest viewing figures of premier league and la liga? Nobody wants to watch that boring shit you call football.

How many teams have won the serie a over the last few years? If "anybody can win"? And who knows if the winning team even deserved it with all the match fixing and corruption in the league.

And why do you mention Ac Milan? Of course the shit teams will beat them they didnt even qualify for the champions league :1orglaugh How about that thrashing arsenal gave them in the CL last year, they looked like a bunch of old dogs, has beens...

Wow Hull beat Arsenal ..how frequently does it happen, once every 45 years?

In the last 16 years only 4 teams won the EPL : ManU, Blackburn, Arsenal and Chelsea

In the Last 16 years 5 teams won the Serie A : Lazio, Roma , Milan ,Juventus and Inter and if you add 3 more years to that you can add Napoli and Sampdoria.

When you talk about AC Milan you simply loose, it's the most victorious team in football history. This is a fact:

Don't confuse this super teams.

Chelsea vs. Ipswitch(div 1) - 2 - 1

In the end of january.

MOxxx is blind to the skill, pace and excitement of the Premier League. The facts speak for themselves - look at what the English clubs have done in Europe this season. Destroyed them.

It certainly wasn`t the case several years ago but in recent years, the English top flight is proven far and away the strongest league in the world. If you refuse to believe all the people here, just read what the experts in the footballing media report.

No i dont, Ac Milan are SHIT now. I dont care about your history, Britain USED to rule the world but that doesnt count for shit any more.

Heres a fact for you, over the past 3 years Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool have all been in a champions league final. How about Italian clubs? Of course you can dig up some HISTORY but we are debating why the EPL is the best league NOW.

Manchester united lost 2 times! to west ham last year.
They also had a massive match against hull which ended 4-3 this year and hull were only promoted this season
Arsenal lost 2-1 against hull on the 27th of september. they have also drawn against stoke this season who also just been promoted to the PL this season.

You don't know fuck all! about football mate.

And i've just proven that point above.

Serie A is slowwww and boring your teams are shit and so is the league in general!

The Premier League is Fast paced and the players in the premier league are world class.

Hence the reason for 2 season in a row there is 4 english teams in the 1/4 finals of the champions league.

Now fuck off, and shut the fuck up before I own your pathetic knowledge of football even more :thumbsup

The Bundesliga and Ligue 1 now boast some of the country's top stars. I agree, in some way you must be half italian, all you have to do is look up the last years international results.

How sad and humiliating it must be for the England national team to be coached by an Italian, it just shows you cant do shit for your self (tehehe)
Liverpool owned by the Americans, Arsenal by the Arabs and city by the Thais.... Blaaaah!

Si 03-12-2009 06:24 PM

Notice how hull were only promoted this season aswell and they have had some excellent matches against the BIG 4.

and AC milan are NOT the most dominating in europe, Real Madrid are and they lost 4-0 against liverpool so, again,

YOU FAIL and so does the Serie A

Oh yeah because the USA are a really fucking good national team ain't they? NOT!

Also the russian nation side was coached by a dutch coach,
a portugese manager was the coach of brazil when they won the world cup,

Who cares where the coach is from?

Well steve mclaren fucked up, so did venables (but he didn't get given much chance) hoddle was a shit coach.

Sven was also shit. Capello is a good move for england and there were obviously calls for the manager to be english when mclaren became boss and he fucked it up.

If cappello does a good job it doesn't matter. the english players need a manager that can bring the team together.

OK 3 episodes in what 2 years, maybe 3 ?

Football is a cycle you baby boy , you probably too young to know about football, Italian teams were in the 1/4 finals for 3 years so what?

You can say whatever you want but the EPL has the most embarrassing defense lines in Football , anyone can score.

Teams play always the same boring 4-4-2 like if we were in the 90's.

Goalkeepers are a joke, take off Chech and Reina occasionally Van der sar ( all foreigners) and everyboy elses is a disaster.

Refs are the worst in Europe (UEFA ranking).

World Class Player? You can mention probably Gerard,Rooney, Drogba,Fabregas who else?

Don't mention Ronaldo because when he plays away from Old Trafford he doesn't catch a ball. Euro 2008 docet.

Now YES it's a fats pace league, it's always been very athletic.

Now when the Money Bubble will pop, EPL well go back to be the same medieval league which is the mirror of the national team.

Funny.

Inter, Italian champs for the past 3 years plays many of its games in Serie A WITHOUT AN ITALIAN STARTING MEMBER. They are all foreign (Brazilians, Portuguese, Argentines etc etc...), heck, even the Coach is Portuguese.

I'd say before you say anything against the Premier League, you should check your own.

True we are not in Europe...we are in the world little boy:

Milan and Boca share 18 officially recognized international titles (most in the world).

AC Milan have 7 UEFA Champions League Titles, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 2 UEFA Cups, 3 Intercontinental Cups and 1 FIFA Club World Cup. So that is 14 Titles in Europe, and 4 Titles Internationally.

Check who has the most appearances in the CL finals in the last 20 years...guess what AC Milan is. 8 times.

We sucked this season due to too many injured key players but next year we will be back once again don't you worry little boy.

Inter is a case apart, they have always been a joke and the second team of Milan. One team out of 18 doesn't constitute any relevant data.

Again since you all are so fond for the EPL which i presume is a league where Englishmen play as well tell me why the English national team doesn't get anywhere since the Baby final in Italy 1990?

If the EPL is so dominating and rich with world class players including the British... where was England in the 2006 world cup? and 2002? and 1998? about 1994?

Whoever said the EPL is number 1 and La Liga is number 2, is spot on. Serie A has declined in the last few years (remember the scandal in 2006?).

Little boy i don't need wiki answers, i watch AC Milan since 1980 so i know one or two things about our trophies.

We have been battling with Boca juniors ( from Buenos Aires Argentina, in case you want to know) from years now so i don't need any website to tell what they won and what we won.

We can go back and forth for years about who is the best and who is not, like you say the FACTS are the only import thing here.

FACTS say the ManU is a powerhouse as much as AC Milan, truth is that AC Milan has 7 champions League and ManU 3.

Truth is that Last Time ManU lost in Champions League was against AC Milan ( 3-0).

I believe that but i am not sure that last time ManU lost a CL at Old Trafford was against AC Milan ( 0-1 Crespo)

You like Ronaldo? well i don't and i can tell you why: he doesn't make the differece in the team, Rooney does, the great Ryan Gigs does. Rolando is a sissy primadonna who likes to pass the ball with his hill when it's not necessary.

Kaka' , Messi, Totti, Gerard,Pato,Buffon these are world class player.

Anyway i am done.

Have a good weekend.

I am leaning toward LFC, Man U and Barcelona.

I think only Barcelona can stop one of the British teams.

I say that one between ManU, Liverpool and Barcelona will be in the final. Arsenal and Chelsea won't make it.

Picking up on Ross' post, whilst Maldini is a Milan (and football) legend, I reckon their greatest defender was Franco Baresi. That guy was incredible, and the bedrock that Milan brought the likes of Maldini and Costacurta through on.

Alas Moxx, in recent years I dont think Serie A compares to the Premier League in terms of quality or success. I reckon that if you asked 100 people here to pick an Italian game or a Premiership game to watch, 90% would go for the Premiership.

The English national team does have its problems and in reality they start at grass roots level. However nowadays kids are being encouraged to be comfortable with the football rather than just wanting to "lump it" up the pitch. When will we see the benefits? Who knows, maybe in 20 years time. But there are steps being taken to ensure we create a new generation of footballers who can play football "the right way" (like Spain showed us recently). Personally I think bringing in Cappello was a great move as he will instill discipline, desire and pride into the national team.

Kevin Kegan #7 was my hero then he went to play for Hamburg and that silly ass of Kenny Dalglish took his place, i was 9 and sooooo pissed that i changed team and supported Wrexham.
I don't know why im saying this, i guess im still pissed about Notingham Forest beating Liverpool in the first turn of the European cup back in 78. Brian Clough was a prick.

My first game at the stadium was Wales Scotland at Wrexham, i went with my brother and his mates, i hid in the corner at the top left of the stands behind the goal, while my brother and another 500 sheep shaggers beat up a bunch of drunk Scots that entered the wrong stands. Wales lost but i didnt see the goal, all i seen was beat up fans angry pigs and flying fists.

When England got kicked out of the 82 world cup in Spain i was pissed, i wanted a final England - Italy, but still Rossi, Cabrini, Conti, Scirea, Tardelli and company went ahead and kicked Germanys ass 3-1.

I did go to Montecarlo in 1999 to see Lazio beat Manchester United in the Uefa super cup final, it was fun cos i could count on my fingers the amount of Man U fans there. Salas scored a great goal and we beat the champions of Europe.

Capello is the right man for England, cos hes Italian and he wont take shit from anyone. Hes the most decorated coach in the past 10 years if im not wrong, winning a lot with Milan, Roma and R. Madrid. Still i think Ramsey is rolling over, by the way who remembers Gordon Banks and Bobby Moore the 1966 hero's and to think that was the only official trophy England has every won.

whatever.

Great post Lee! I agree with you.

Thanks for bringing up my childhood hero and idol Franco Baresi.

I think though that Maldini is a way more complete player ( a right footer that made his Career play of the left wing!).

Baresi had the guts of a Bull and he was hard as a rock, i think that at least in one occasion he deserved the golden ball...only if Van Basten was not around....

Didn't Milan win in 2007...?

The last three winners have been Barcelona, Milan, and Man U -- that is hardly English European domination.

Since 2000;

2000 -- Real
2001 -- Bayern Munich
2002 - Real
2003 -- Milan
2004 -- Porto
2005 - LFC
2006 -- Barcelona
2007 -- Milan
2008 -- Man U

The sad fact is that English football has only improved with the addition of non English management, and non English talent.

Arguably Arsenal best game ever was in the 2006 final, and they only had two English players (Cole and Campbell -- both defenders).

LFC's win in the 2005 final only featured 2 English players.

The Man U / Chelsea 2008 final only had a combined 10 English players of of the total 36 players in both squads.

Haven't read the thread, however for me the Spanish league is the best in the world.

Almost every game i watch has lots of action, great goals, and just brillant play. Even from the so called smaller teams in the league.

I like the English and Italian leagues, but quite often you see games in those leagues which are shit. The Spanish league very rarely has games like that... :2 cents:

I love the Spanish league too, however would you agree that the referees often cock it up? Its almost as if they think 80,000 fans have paid to see them.

Compared to the referees we have here, they actually don't seem "too" bad. Although they do make some high profile mistakes though...

Let's point this out for FACTS:

1. in the last 10 years 2 english teams MUFC with 2 CL title and LFC with 1, thats 3(just to make it clear because your obviously an idiot) and only 2 for italy both for AC Milan.

2. There are 4! teams from the PL left in the CL same as there was last year.

3. Last season CL final was an ALL english final with Chealsea and Manchester UTD. and Liverpool were also in the Semis along with only one non-english team (barca)

4. The Premiership Gains more Revenue per year than any other domestic league in Europe.

5. The most succesful team in the days of the Champions League is Real Madrid

6. Steven Gerrard an English Player from the Premier League is the current Top goal scorer in the CL this Season.

I can keep going all day long giving you reasons why the Serie A is rubbish and the PL is the best League in the world today

Oh yeah this might have had something to do with it:

Due to football hooliganism in 1985 English clubs were banned from the champions league for 5 years, and Liverpool was banned for a further 2 years.
