That's the way it should be handled. Your best bet for avoiding this shit is to just close the chat for a few minutes. They'll move on to the next target and you can go about your biz.

Kicking/banning is usually futile whether it's on a message board, IRC, cams, what have you. It's instant and there's always a way around it. You're better off having a "gag" feature. If you "gag" the user, they're text doesn't show up to you or other guests, but they still see it and continue typing away thinking it's getting through. Make them waste their time, not yours.

I used to work for a commercial IRC network back in the day, and the server-wide "gag" feature was golden -- much more effective than a kick/ban/kline
