iPhone live jam of MGMT

http://i.gizmodo.com/5162801/londons...gmt-on-iphones

We've never heard of the Mentalists (because we're old), but this four-woman London band just covered MGMT's Kids using just iPhones. And it doesn't sound like shit!

The foursome used the App Store's Ocarina, Retro Synth, miniSynth and DigiDrummer Lite to recreate the song. Again, surprisingly not horrible.

Thanks for posting this, mvee. Now that is what I call creativity. I so looove that song. Only heard it a couple of months ago for the first time. MGMT, those guys were probably the best pop/rock bands to emerge in 2008.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the song, here is the unofficial video. (Strangely, no official video was ever made.) But that video is very, very good considering it was made by students. It caused an internet sensation, and everyone now asks who the girl in the video is.

I agree, that little break with the drum part towards the end of the song is killer.

Totally agree. These guys combine all of my favs, Bowie, Flaming Lips, Bauhaus plus some modern techno like Fischer Spooner into a great sound
