I've been a sports car freak these last few years. 2 years ago when I was working minimum wage, I was saving for a 1984 Camaro -- nice car, but American.

Now I can buy several every month.

too much scum to make it enjoyable. i try to watch who i deal with, but you still end up getting stiffed. its truely sad.

I'm fairly fresh into the industry... I use to not see the hype of internet porn...I was never one to surf it let alone pay for it, or even think of building a porn site... it was just never my thing... then I got into web design and tried to make it off it just designing peoples sites... then I found that most of the fuckers trying to run businesses non-porn are fucked in the head and think they should get shit for free... then I was talking with a friend and found that he was doing porn sites... finally I sat down and actually looked into it... I then found it to be a good idea to build sites to my specifications and not someone else...

now any other job is not worth my time

I am serious. I WAS saving. My knowledge of cars 2 years ago was no where near what it is now (though I still have lots to learn).

I have no interest in internet porn. I have nothing against it, mind you, but I don't surf for it either.

For me, it's all about the $$, and more than that, the freedom I have working for myself.

I do like the people I've met in this business - at conventions, parties, etc...

The people in this biz are much cooler than most others.

I'm truly enjoying this business. Will I do it forever - no, but I don't see myself doing anything else in the near future.

This is such an interesting thread because it shows that 2/3rds of pornographers aren't even proud of what they do...

I don't care who knows what I do for a living...I've told just about everyone I know...but I think you are definitely onto something.

I'm not here working my way through college like some of these guys and then moving onto something more respectable when I get my degree... and that's why some people on this board don't really care about issues that will affect the outcome of this industry...and by that I mean any real free speech issues.

Free speech is not there just so the middle class white boyeeez at college can join whatever political rally has the cutest chicks.

It's there to protect some of the worst parts of society...because even though you don't like it...you dont' think it's art...it just may be protected free speech.

Hahaha, don't get me started on this business. Most of the people in it I wouldn't care to see outside of it. Of the ones that I would, it grows fewer almost daily.

There's good money in it, and there really are some standup people, wading through the rest of it is one big pain in the ass.

Someone who's gotten filthy, and I mean filthy fucking filthy rich off this business told me at our very first introduction something that's always stuck with me --

"It's a scam, only a scam, pulled off by all manner of scammers."

I can even hear the accent and the words in my head now. Luckily I hadn't been around too terribly long when I heard it so I figured out he was probably right.

When I call him I say "hello scammer" and he knows it is me, no matter where I am or how bad the connection is to his half of the world...
