I was just listening to a local Vancouver station that plays wicked 80's music, they just played Billy Idol "Rebel Yell"....

We just recently had a radio station go to an all 80's format here and my radio dial hasn't left it since (ok, sometimes, I sneak over to Xtreme radio ;))
the one 80's song that forever sticks in my head is "Major Tom" by Peter Schilling...my first time doing acid was to that song and it still gives me flashbacks..I also remember a weird moment in a dentist's office when that song was playing just as the gas kicked in...I could feel myself floating as he sang "4, 3, 2, 1....Earth below us...drifting....falling......Floating weightless....calling, calling home..." fucking chills I tell ya... my 80's music of choice though was Venom, Slayer, early Metallica, early Anthrax, Megadeth, Cyrith Ungol, Possessed, Satan, Zeotrope, X, Plasmatics, Cro-Mags, etc. and of course my well documented fondness of 80's hair metal...give me pseudo satanic lyrics and/or big hair bands fucking more times than the rest of us took a piss and I'm a happy fucking guy.... but it's odd when I hear some of the 80's stuff now that I hated in the 80's and still have memories attached to some of the songs...and get all nostalgic...fuck me, I'm getting old...........

I just heard that "major Tom" song a few days ago on BOB FM. I have tons of 80's music downloaded. After searching through CD stores and those used CD outlets, I caught the tail end of Napster before they got nuked, and I grabbed a lot of my old old favorites. Here are a few of them...
