Done this as long as I can remember, hate the feeling of having longer nails i guess.. like having pieces of tape stuck on the end of them.. i have stopped for a few days.. but i know its only a matter of time before i do it without noticing.. i attempt many times to stop.

that nasty shit dont help, i bite it off and spit it..

I bit my nails from the time I had teeth until about 3 years ago. I just decided to quit and somehow managed. It wasn't the first time. Now I enjoy getting my manicures. I can't really explain it.

Did the smokes and blow the same way. Just stopped.

Nothing wrong with keeping them short (just not too short like most nail biters are), just carry around one of those small nail clippers on your key chain. Or clip them in the morning when you brush your teeth, just don't bite them nails are nasty for bacteria.

note my nails are not hard like toenails.. hell I could never bite that shit, not that I could reach lol.. I am hoping if I can pull this off long enough they will grow harder and make it more impossible for me to bite.

My son had that issue. There is a clear polish that has a horrid taste. So when u put your fingers in your mouth, you get that nastiness. I forget what its called.

yeah it comes off easy enough and able to spit it without tasting it as long as your tongue or lips is not wet.. than again only tried it once.

I don't bite my nails, I quit doing that when I become a freak about germs. But I pick them all time so it's just as bad. Uggg! Wish I could stop but like you say, you just forget about it and next thing I know I'm using a pen cap or bottle cap to pick at my nails.

What I did was put a rubber band around my wrist. When I caught myself biting my fingernails, I would pull the rubber band out and snap it, hard, against the sensitive part of my wrist on the palm side.

Eventually I associated the biting with the pain and I stopped.

YMMV, but it worked for me.
