I remember hearing of a program called "Defroster" that converts ColdFusion over to ASP, but I never saw the program or know where to get it.

coldfusion and asp have many common things, but i don't know, i can imagine an 100% correct code produced by a program. It's similar to expect a perfect text translation from a program. Have in mind that a single wrong line of code most probably will cause error.

yeah good luck keev... the conversion job will depend largely on what version of Cold Fusion the code is written and whether or not the programmer used inline Cold Fusion tags or wether they used the functional scripting language which was incorporated into later versions...

the scripting language used in the later versions is based on Javascript and many ASP programmers who use server side JSCRIPT wont have to much trouble converting this.

Ive done a bit of converting between the two before... but am a little busy for the next for few weeks and cant take any large projects on at the moment

I'm a huge fan of CF - wish more Adult Hosts supported it.

(And yes, it does have a Linux server port availble).

its fine and its got some great features... I guess the biggest problem is that u have to pay for the CF server wheres as ASP and PHP are free

the other problem we have faced with projects written in CF is getting enough skilled programmers locally to work on projects
