Wordpress 2.7.1 - Of Course the Auto Update Doesn't Work - GoFuckYourself.com

Maybe some have had better luck with the auto updater. Tried it on one blog, it hung up on Downloading update from wordpress.org/wordpress-2.7.1.zip. So I tried on a 2nd blog and got the same result. I looked in the 2.7.1 change log and didn't see anything related to the auto updater, I probably missed it though.

Did the auto updater actually work for anyone?

I updated one blog automatically just to see if they fixed the long loading of pages in the admin... same bullcrap.

Damn, I wish there was a 2.7 to 2.6.5 DOWNGRADER plugin available ...

Are you talking about the stuff on the admin index, like wordpress news and new plugins? If so, you can remove the extra stuff with the 'screen options' menu towards the top.

No man, the whole backend is slower since 2.7 version. And I know I'm not the only one, because hundreds have the same problem (read it on the wordpress forums).

Hope 2.8 will fix this shit

the update problem works fine, you screwed something up

i still do it manually on most blogs though to be safe

I think the reason the update function dont work, is server security related - But its really a good thing if you ask me

Im pretty new to wordpress but I updated to the new version on two blogs and it worked fine for me.
