Like I said in my earlier post... second week of the month is blowing ass. First week of the month we were about 10-15% UP.... This second week (which I like to call the, "Oh shit, I got my cc statement," week) is about 25% off...

Hopefully they forget about their cc's and what they owe by next week...

I'm in the bizz for 14 years, The BOOMING time, you did put up one nipple and people bought it. Making huge money had days with 6000 US sign-ups. In 2003 I sold all my sites just on the HYPE of Internet is the new world, made good money out of that. But I saw already a huge dropdown. I only can wondering that at the moment it must be fucking hard to maintaine your sites.

I did go in the producing sector, sales are way down since last year, so again I sold my studio to an other company. Just getting out of the shit on the right moment.

Now I take only orders from old clients, who are paying for sure, had some serious probems with some guys ordering and not paying.

I also see that webmasters dont care at the moment about the quality of the content, they are looking for LOW prices, I deny to shoot stuff like that, there I put my soul in my work and not just ah fuck it just an other scene.

2009 will be hard, lots of huge companies are closing down.

Diomed 02-12-2009 08:33 PM

I will honestly say that sales have definitely been hurting as of the past 8 months.

To those who say "things are only getting better" must have started from meager beginnings in the first place, where as you only had room to improve.

The usual traffic sources are becoming less and less productive on a daily basis, be it a culmination of the tubes/economy/cross sales, I'm not sure.. all I know is people who say there has been zero affect are full of shit. The economy alone has touched everyone in one way or another.

I use to be able to double my ROI with ease, now I'm lucky to get 15-20%.

There are only two different options as I see it, either:

A) lie to your traffic and rip them off
B) be completely honest in your marketing approach and gain their trust

But perhaps that's just me :2 cents:

Wrong. No offense to you mang. But not everyone is competing in the same markets or niches, and some are more hands on, and using clip stores, on top of VOD, membership, DVD, and custom requests.

Yes. Some of the mainstream porn markets are dying out. Some of those old business models are dying out. But not everyone is feeling the pain, or to the same degree. It has nothing to do with lying or not. Bullshit or not.

We are not all playing on the same field.

digitaldivas 02-12-2009 08:48 PM

I am 200 percent up on Beautifulfeetonline.com and Digitaldivas is about the same, perhaps 10 percent lower.

I have not really been active with digitaldivas, still indexing and joining affiliate programs. DDO is still under construction, btw, about 60 percent complete. Not really putting my heart and soul into promoting yet.

Beautifulfeetonline.com, I have been promoting like mad since Jan 1st, my alexa has gone from 788,552 to 523,556 and still dropping. I am also dropping my 29.95 per month full access to 10.00 per month access for the rest of this month. I did this last year as well and almost crashed my server, and quadrupled my signups, as well. The rest of the month will be fantastic for me. But I am niche and microniche, and not alot of my competition shoots in HDV, nor are they also lifestyle foot fetishists...

Lol, me too! Not to talk, but barefootsies can agree. Serious Footies look at touching womens feet like touching the lines of a ferrari. Some bigger companies that push foot fetish thinks that any foot will do. Not so, Perverts, especially foot fetishists know if the site owner has passion or is of the same discipline or not in the first 10 seconds they hit the main page.

Agree 110%.

I can't speak for ALL fetishes. But I know for my markets, tickling and feet, that the members/patrons/customers/fans can tell almost instantly if you actually really have the fetish or not.

A lot of the new foot sites I see coming out now may get a few sales. But I still see many who are going to fail or have a difficult time. Regardless of the super high quality photography.

In fetish, it's about the action more than fancy presentation. Digitaldivas is the two-fer. You get high res and true foot lover.

digitaldivas 02-12-2009 09:15 PM

...Live it, Love it! Thanks BF, I agree, I would say that with such things as bdsm, forced submission, etc, etc. People who play, know... Maybe that is what separates some ass sites with others, or boob sites, etc.

Your telling me if you operation is this same size as say.. 7 months ago, that you haven't seen a decrease in sales at all?

As I have said in other threads on this same subject. My ratios (sig) remain consistent. HOW I make my money has changed to get to my end of month number.

For example, I used to make more money on DVD and memberships then clip sales. Now it can be some months more clip sales then the other. So clips make up the money I lose in recurring membership. Same customers. Just opting to pay more with buying individual clips. Or I will have a month where members want to buy custom content. So they pay for tailored material to the script they submit.

The traffic, and HOW I make my money is different. The end result, or ball park, is the same month to month more a less. I typically look at the year's and compare, not 7 months. So I would have to look.

However, the point is, over all. My 'sales' or company 'profits' as defined in this thread continue to go up, to remain stable despite the economy. If you have never competed in a niche market with exclusive, original content, I can understand your disbelief. But I stand by what I've posted in this, and other threads on the subject.

Niche is not the same rules as mainstream porn. There is not as much of it, nor tons available on tubes. So the patrons have to PAY FOR IT. Plus, smaller niche players are more dedicated to protecting, and policing our content.

tranza 02-13-2009 10:27 AM

33% claiming they are making more money?

I call bullshit on these stats.

Because 90% of those that picked "more" are starters.

If you used to make 500$/month online and you're making 900$ now, well you make more :disgust

Exactly, and if you made tens of thousands per month as an affiliate and now are only make thousands, you've been in it longer and it sucks to see things go in reverse.

TheSenator 02-21-2009 06:01 AM

I just ran my StatsRemote from the month on Jan 08 and compared them to Jan 09. I am up 25% from last year for the month on Jan. My traffic is also up to 35% from last year for the month of Jan.

Seriously, I am putting more time and afford into my blogs then ever before. I sit in front of the computer for 8 to 10 hour stretches. I remember back in 2000 - 2003 I could take off a whole summer, skip a few weeks, and still make a killing. Those days are so fucking over.

There might be some SMS biller or something which could do micropayments, although I'm not sure what I'd sell with them, if someone is already a member. But then affiliates would not get credit for those sales.

March has been a horrible month.

I wonder how many other webmasters are suffering in silence.

xxxjay 03-23-2009 09:08 PM

The DOW is up 500 points...how are your sales?

Peter Romero 03-23-2009 09:38 PM

My sales on www.POVPorn.com are 7X better than last year. Largly due to a fresh new design, great programing and a custom built Content Management System that allows me full fucking control of all my sites and with that - WE UPDATE ALL THE FUCKING TIME!!! Don't believe me? Don't hate, participate - www.POVCash.com

Semi-Retired-Dave 03-23-2009 11:27 PM

I tried telling you guys, if you stop giving away so much free shit on your site, they have a better chance to sign up. Ask our webmasters. They just show a few teaser shots then they buy a membership and enter their galleries.

You guys with the Free TGP sites...I don't know why anyone would buy anything if they are getting it all for free.

Amen toe dat shit nig.
:thumbsup

BROS cutting their own throats every week with longer clips, more this, more that, flooding the fucking market and wonder why no one will buy shit.

If people want mainstream shit, they do not even need a tube. There is so much out there they can bust a nut. You should have been more selective providing content to affiliates, and made them earn their keep before giving them the keys to the castle.

Now the genie is out of the bottle, and you are crying in your beer.

Enjoy.

nickutis 03-24-2009 01:42 AM

My traffic is up by 30% comparing 2008 february and 2009 february, but revenue is only 5% up.
