i could never give up meat, i did however lose 25 pounds just eating right and exercising. i can almost gurantee you that if that guy cut out meat he would still be eating fried foods and who knows what other kind of junk, which is even worse than eating meat. i mostly eat fish and not really much red meat myself.

there are countless books on this, but your entire digestion changes when you go from meat eater to veg, unless youve been through it and truly understand what meat does to you, this conversation will serve no purpose.

This is a myth. Many vegetarians and even vegans are fat due to malnutrition and simply eating bad. Indeed, I have several vegan friends, 3 that I can think of off the top of my head who I hang out with regularly right now. And of these 3, neither of the girls is what i'd exactly call thin or skinny. Nice girls, but they definitely have a little chub goin' on, and are both long time vegetarians.

I speak from experience. My weight dropped off and has not returned, slimmer than ever, and in better shape. Im not here to argue, just post my side as a vegetarian.

Eating meat isn't the culprit and going vegan is very tough to do and stay healthy *long term*.

Sure, going vegan helps you lose weight right away... have you ever tried to eat 2000-2500 calories vegan? I have, it blows. Especially here in Canada where avocado's cost so much ($1.50 a piece to $3 a piece if you want organic). The main reason vegan's lose weight is simply calorie restriction. And even when your stomach is full of veggies and fruits you still *feel* hungry because your body is craving calories.

Energy levels are poor for the first week on vegan, then they recover a bit. But I can tell you that switching back to a diet that was 40% protein, 40% fat and 20% carbs gave me my energy back right away

This guy needs serious calorie restriction and surgery to drop some weight. Then he needs to do some fucking exercise.

26,881 men and 26,699 women died from colorectal cancer

that means about 1 in 6,000 people died of colon cancer in the usa. according to fletches statistics (that he pulled of a site trying to sell you colon clenser) only 1 in 6,000 people in the usa eat meat. for some reason im pretty convinced that something else causes colon cancer.
