come on - i would have given you three thumbs up if that would have been offered 4 or 6 weeks ago. but making people buy early by giving an early bird discount of 50 bucks and then later offering $150 to those who have already bought is kind of screwed up.

for me and the people who come with me it's also $600 in total - that's a nice amount of drinks and lapdances

I just think it's funny the discounted price is enough to stay at the Gold Coast. I'm so kicking myself, last year I swore I'd stay at the Gold Coast and I just plain forgot this year when I booked everything early.. room, air, badge.

Being a glass half full kind of guy, I would also say that as someone who paid $250 for my badge two months ago I'm happy if this last minute discount increases attendance because in my view that gives me a better value for my overall time and money spent.

Exactly, I haven't been to a show for a few years, but from '99-'04 I don't think I missed a single show, including the Adult Entertainment Expo, since I mainly ran porn stores back then. The AVN and the Rose Tours bullshit always marked the rooms up and tried to tell you that you could either only book through them, or that you would get a discount rate. They got me in 2001 for AEE and Internext, and I booked directly through the hotel ever since...

But actually i don't think it will be responsible for one extra attendee. it might make some people buy a badge that would have skipped that and just went to the Palms circle bar and some parties. but i don't think that someone now will buy a plane ticket and get hotel rooms just cause the ticket got cheaper.

Im not paying $200 or so a night to stay in the palms, definitely not worth it IMO. If i was only going to Vegas for my once a year vacation, I might think of spending more and getting nicer room. but the $400+ I saved by staying at the Gold Coast, is an extended weekend somewhere else next month :thumbsup

I normally stay at the Westin, or whatever places the shows are thrown. But this time, it was like a difference of $350-400 a room per night at the Palms, or $160.00 for the whole week (days I was staying) over at Gold Coast for rooms that look BETTER than the one I had at Internext Florida!

Plus, with that extra money, I can get a script done, or some extra photoshoots, or even some more house construction. I simply can't justify over inflated costs when they get creeping to $800-1000 overage.

If you would have just charged $150 from the start, all the people that just show up and go to the parties might have bought tickets too, and you wouldn't have pissed us all off by fucking us out of $150.

Not to mention that at $150, actual real webmasters might be able to afford to come to the show... I mean, it's supposed to actually be for webmasters isn't it? Get more webmasters, attendance goes up, more sponsors buy booths... maybe the show will grow and make you more money. But then people have been saying this for years.
