Photoshop 5.5 and Photoshop 7 (depending on which machine I'm on at the moment), ImageReady, Thumbplus, Thumbnailer, Arles... umm... probably more, but those are the main ones.

photoshop for bitmap... freehand these days for vector though i used to like illustrator better... and fireworks for slicing

I'm the only designer i know who uses Corel Photopaint and Draw rather that Adobe, i still use Adobe sometimes but not nearly as much as i use Corel.
I have always used Corel so when i need to put my mind on the screen fast it and it does what i what i want it to do. I only use Adobe if there is an effect i need to use on my objects.

about a year ago Lensman offered me a job at Adult.com, but the lead designer and everyone else there uses Adobe

Now that i think back i should've just learned Photoshop

PaintShopPro may do what you want and will have less of a learning curve than PhotoShop. For making thumbnail pages (thumbs + HTML), ThumbsPlus is quick and easy.
