i have a pomeranian (small girl dog. fits in a large purse. looks cute in prissy clothes) that was abused before i adopted him and that little fucker will bite any stranger who comes near him. i think that animal aggression has less to do with the breed and a lot to do with the dogs upbringing/history-- much like people.

the difference between my dog and a pitbull is the obvious: power, but additionally the fact that the media looooves to sensationalize incidents of pitbulls biting people. those stories sell. additionally (no offense to any pitbull owners on this board) some douchebag human beings are attracted to that breed. douchebag owner = douchebag dog. the breed doesn't matter so much. i have met tons of very, very obedient pitbulls. they listen to their owners intently... the kind of dog that you tell to stay and it will sit there for hours until you tell it to move again. just imagine if the dog has a douchebag owner who is teaching it things other than 'stay'. they are very eager to please, in my experience.

All I have to say is that my 2 Malteses (girl 4lbs, boy 5lbs) will hack a pitbull anyday.

They can be vicious bro... watch out! LOL

i was playing with an 80 pound pit on the holidays....her name is rosie...she is sweet as pie.

but i have to tell you...they do intimidate...its the mouth area...looks more ferocious or something.

anyway, if you bring a dog up right and with lots of love and family interaction no problem

if you are a deadbeat loser who thinks he is a gangster...your dog will pick up on that and act in the same fashion

The most poingant stories are the ones where the family says the dog was always loved and gentle and wonderful.. until the day it ate their babies face off :(

I sleep with my Saucy, blue pit, snuggled in my left arm every night, with my kitty Sensei in the right. She is the sweetest, doofiest, little stubborn thing in the world, and she is a good dog.

She will rip your fucking face off if you come near me.

Attention and training, exercise and discipline will help her behave, and I am a good pack leader, but guaranteed if anyone fucks with me she will tear them apart.
