Adobe no longer supports activation of Serious Magic Products

If you have a copy of DV Rack, Ultra 1 or 2, Vlog, or Visual Communicator 1 or 2, Adobe quit issuing new licenses for activation or re-activation of existing licenses on November 3,2008.

I tried to reinstall my Visual Communicator 2 on a new laptop and got the old .

They still support the Versions from Adobe.

Nothing on the website or notice from the company about the change in support.

Their customer service could use some improvement in my opinion.

That's probably the whole idea of discontinuing activation.

I imagine in 5 years we'll have the CPU phoning home to Intel to activate itself.

I had to resort to using a key generator in order to continue using a product I'd legally purchased from Adobe. I had a lot of stability problems with my computer a few years ago and had to reinstall several times - sometimes I was able to deactivate photoshop, but a couple of times it was a crash and reinstall. I think it was because I redid the RAID array that the activation system believed it was a different HD and/or computer.

Reactivation was painless with Microsoft, I called them and confirmed (truthfully) that I was not installing a duplicate copy of Windows onto another machine, it was a fresh install over an old crashed copy. Took about 5 minutes in total. Adobe was another matter completely, I was on hold for HOURS to their phone activation system, TWICE. I gave up trying to get through, then someone sent me a keygen and I haven't had to bother with Adobe activation since. It's ridiculous that I have to do this for a product I have legally purchased.

Great that Adobe now helps its customers decide when it's time to part with their money to pay for updates.
Future plans include coming to your house to assfuck you, for an undisclosed amount that will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account... all for your convenience!
